Uhm, xlink kai and any of those programs make use of existing netcode. There is NO netcode in ultimate ninja storm.
So unless the ps3 gets hacked, and someone figures out some convoluted method of faking a local second player, like with PSO + super smash on the GC, such a thing would be impossible.
Just bought new on ebay for $37, and used my ebay gift card they gave me for xmas making it a whopping $12 ^^
no arcade mode... no multiplayer : (
having to goto charactor select over and over again is kinda lame if you don't have any friends to play with.
Also, in quest mode... I was expecting to see zabuza : (

Like you said, having no one to play with really takes out a lot of enjoyment out of this game. When I play with people, we have so much fun random-selecting our characters, support and maps. It gets especially good when you get to start in an awakened form, and even better when you beat someone else who's awakened.
I'd definitely like more downloadable content though. All they've got now is support characters and extra missions.

Likewise. I haven't even played the recent new missions. I'll probably use it about 30 minutes when Tayuya's support character is released. Since she isn't playable 30 minutes will be enough to leave the game forgotten.
I've just been playing quest mode so I can unlock players. sort of cheated a couple times when I found out that some of the quests that give mission xp are for playing X hours, so yesterday I left the game on while I went out, and came back to continue the current arc, then hit another played 15 hours mission xp bonus : )
my favorite playable charactors so far are kakashi and neji, maybe naruto if he has more jutsu to learn.
My favourite iw Kakashi. He works great for my favourite tactic: substitution technique, then ninjutsu. He substitutes well enough, and his Raikiri is pretty fast to use. His sharingan just makes it a whole lot better.
I'd say the same for Sasuke, since his Ultimate move is easier to land IMO and his item just makes substitution a cake walk, but the fact that he backflips before charging the chidori gives the opponent just enough time to block (when you substitute out but they're still locked in combo animation).
Neji's good, but his speed attacks are his weakness. He strikes so many times that mashing R/L2 will substitute you out of his combo almost every time.
For me, the hardest guy to fight against (human players, not AI) is the Third. His Ultimate lands on me quite a lot, despite how it's blockable, takes a huge chunk of health, and seals your chakra.
Most annoying guy to fight against / most fun to use is Itachi w/ Clone Jutsu. It makes him unapproachable

unnaproachable? try playing as the third with shuriken kage bunshin, and use either itachi AND kurenai clone bombs, or use itachi bomb and tenten, you can spam ppl to death with those combos.

I think there was someone that really wanted this one.

tayuya is really good, her support hit stuns and eats chakra.

Due to popular demand and the responses from our fans, Namco Bandai will be releasing these pre-order exclusive characters for everyone to enjoy. The 1st and 2nd Hokages are scheduled to be available from the Sony Playstation Store on April 23, 2009. Are they playable characters? Or just support characters? Because I've already downloaded them as supports. First Hokage's tree trap is pretty awesome

I would be really, really, really surprised if they are playable. It would be the only reason I take the game out again, actually.
