    Movie: Vexille

This is a Japanese movie about a future Japan that has been isolated from the rest of the world because they refuse to follow international laws governing advancements in robotics.

It came out in 2007 and has a similar CGI styling to the FF7 movies, but somehow it was easier to watch to me. The CGI isn't as advanced, resulting in a look that was more animated and less realistic. So instead of the near-yet-so-far-away animation of the FF7 movies, it was more like an advancement animation technique. Not sure if I explained that well.

Definitely worth a watch. It has mechs and battlesuits and a cool twist on ethics and the Japanese notions of technological advancement and superiority.

For God will not permit that we shall know what is to come... those who by some sorcery or by some dream might come to pierce the veil that lies so darkly over all that is before them may serve by just that vision to cause that God should wrench the world from its heading and set it upon another course altogether and then where stands the sorcerer? Where the dreamer and his dream?

I was rather bored throughout the whole movie I have to say.

I must say that, if you liked Appleseed you'll like Vexille. If not, don't bother watching.

I watched er, but I simply didn't enjoy it. Its a good watch, but I constantly compared er to the last Appleseed and quite frankly, she just didn't measure up.

Those 'Jags' were insanely awesome however. Best thing in movie.

I watched it in English dub, and I liked it a lot.

The ending was like 'wut!' though. I was surprised at Tokyo.
