Oh yeah, flying roaches...When I was about 5 or 6, I had seen my first flying roach. I saw the hugest roach I'd see up to that point in my life crawling on a wall. Soon as I saw it, it stopped crawling and I froze in terror for about 10s. I turned around and was about to run in panic when I just a sharp pain on my earlobe as if someone flicked me with their fingers. Then I noticed the roach had zipped by me and landed on the opposite wall, towards the direction I wanted to run. I froze once again in horror as I rose my hand to my ear, to notice blood dripping from it.

Roaches, wherever they are, I will kill them. I will fight the good fight.

I lived in an apartment that I still distinctly remember. A juvy rodent climbed up my pillow as I was trying to sleep. I closed my eye and open it again, thinking it was nothing. Next I felt something on my arm then my stomach....yes, it was the rat. I totally went nuts and jump out of my bed. Naturally, I failed to pummel the tiny thing. So I set up a sticky trap pad in my walk in closet and next morning. That was the end of the line.

My wife fixed her iphone by herself!

She dropped it over the weekend and shatterred the screen. She bought a replacement for $15 online and took it apart and replaced it while I was at class, plus documented w\ around 20 photos

I had a similar incident. I was asleep on the train (in Japan) and I felt something on my lip. I rubbed it and killed whatever had been on me and went back to sleep. A few hours later I had a sore on my lip that looked really bad. It ruined my trip, as far as scoring any Japanese girls.

Aside from vermin-related anecdotes, I'm doing pretty well.

I just started teaching Spanish to 9th graders. Because I was hired 2 days before school started, I've been overwhelmed with preparation. Lesson plans, class handouts, administrative stuff, decorating my classroom, etc etc etc. I have so much to do it's ridiculous. My day starts at 5am and aside from a 30 minute break, I don't stop working until about midnight. I'm exhausted.

But it's a good kind of exhausted where I still have energy at 11pm at night, knowing I'm only going to get 5 hours of sleep. I'm content, if not a bit dragged out.

<@Terra> he told me this, "man actually meeting terra is so fucking big", and he started crying. Then he bought me hot dogs

Washing the car and seeing the end result put a big smile on my face. It looks gorgeous when it's clean...well, to me at least.

On the first day of school, I asked my class to write down a few sentences about how familiar they were with Spanish, just to gauge their fluency and writing capacity. I think this was my favorite response:

    At least she tryed

Earlier today I was standing in an elevator with a coworker, when he asked me what was on my shoulder. I looked to see some large insect chilling there, shook my sleeve, and it just fell to the ground dead. Apparently the giant bug landed on my shoulder and died there at some point during the day.

This cute girl is in 2 of my classes, one since we're both in the same major and the other completely random, which makes me think it's not a coincidence (in a karmic sense). I tried to chit chat with her the other day and today she might have caught me checking her out. Later today in another class we did introductions and she mentioned she's engaged to be married next year. I don't think it was a coincidence she decided to mention that. That made me smile.

Your first paycheck after going back to reduced hours will make you sad.

That's sick, man. Your brother's a merciless slave driver.

He was probably playing games 90% of the time.

Dude, i totally wished that was the case. Hell, i wouldn't mind working 100 hours a week if i can just sit around doing what i want most of the time.

The store grand opening was about 2 months ago (moved from a smaller location) so most of what i did was sort inventory and we had a shipment of 1500 books came in when i was working.

It's not hard work by any stretch. It was just boring, tedious and the constant being at work gets annoying after about a week.

    @Kraco

He is, but i honestly can't complain since he works much harder. He has a full time job working as a bank officer and still come to the store after work and full time during his days off. If i was in his shoes, i'd probably let his wife take care of most of the stuff going on at the store and at least take a day off.

Guess there's a reason why he owns his own book store huh?

I don't mind stocking as much as stocktaking.
