I lived in an apartment that I still distinctly remember. A juvy rodent climbed up my pillow as I was trying to sleep. I closed my eye and open it again, thinking it was nothing. Next I felt something on my arm then my stomach....yes, it was the rat. I totally went nuts and jump out of my bed. Naturally, I failed to pummel the tiny thing. So I set up a sticky trap pad in my walk in closet and next morning. That was the end of the line.

I had a similar incident. I was asleep on the train (in Japan) and I felt something on my lip. I rubbed it and killed whatever had been on me and went back to sleep. A few hours later I had a sore on my lip that looked really bad. It ruined my trip, as far as scoring any Japanese girls.

For God will not permit that we shall know what is to come... those who by some sorcery or by some dream might come to pierce the veil that lies so darkly over all that is before them may serve by just that vision to cause that God should wrench the world from its heading and set it upon another course altogether and then where stands the sorcerer? Where the dreamer and his dream?

Aside from vermin-related anecdotes, I'm doing pretty well.

I just started teaching Spanish to 9th graders. Because I was hired 2 days before school started, I've been overwhelmed with preparation. Lesson plans, class handouts, administrative stuff, decorating my classroom, etc etc etc. I have so much to do it's ridiculous. My day starts at 5am and aside from a 30 minute break, I don't stop working until about midnight. I'm exhausted.

But it's a good kind of exhausted where I still have energy at 11pm at night, knowing I'm only going to get 5 hours of sleep. I'm content, if not a bit dragged out.

<@Terra> he told me this, "man actually meeting terra is so fucking big", and he started crying. Then he bought me hot dogs

Washing the car and seeing the end result put a big smile on my face. It looks gorgeous when it's clean...well, to me at least.

On the first day of school, I asked my class to write down a few sentences about how familiar they were with Spanish, just to gauge their fluency and writing capacity. I think this was my favorite response:

    At least she tryed

Earlier today I was standing in an elevator with a coworker, when he asked me what was on my shoulder. I looked to see some large insect chilling there, shook my sleeve, and it just fell to the ground dead. Apparently the giant bug landed on my shoulder and died there at some point during the day.
