Went to school last week to check my calculus final mark...a depressing 83%.
Went to school to do my diploma, checked my calculus final mark again. Apparently, she miscalculated and I got bumped up 3% to an 86%.
Yay, an 86% from little work or studying all semester long.

I don't want to seem like a cynical a-hole, but really she'd have been happier if he had given her $100US and left. The Vietnamese in the old country are very pragmatic, and the emotional significance of gestures like this is lost on them.
