A workstation is more ergonomic than sitting hunched over a laptop. The screen is too low that way, which messes up your back/neck. Elevating the laptop makes it more difficult to use the laptop keyboard, but regardless, my mechanical keyboard is much more comfortable and efficient than the laptop one anyway. You can feel the tactility in this video.

I rarely use the numpad enough to justify having it, plus it lets me reduce the distance of my hands between the keyboard and the tablet (tablets really take up a lot of space).

    AMAZING
It's the Rolls Royce of desk chairs. Definitely recommend you try one for a week.

I'll consider it once I'm done school.

Cost per use dwindles down to a few dimes per day if it lasts several years.

Comes with a 12 year warranty. Plus, if you're an independent contractor like me, you can write it off your taxes.

I've wanted an aeron chair for a while, but can't justify the cost while I'm still in school. Looks great tho, and feels great. The company I worked for had those chairs.

For God will not permit that we shall know what is to come... those who by some sorcery or by some dream might come to pierce the veil that lies so darkly over all that is before them may serve by just that vision to cause that God should wrench the world from its heading and set it upon another course altogether and then where stands the sorcerer? Where the dreamer and his dream?

I bought a Galaxy S2 smartphone today. cost me an arm and a leg and quite a hassle. bastards jacked the price up.
still, I welcome myself to the 21st century, and surprise myself with a late birthday gift.
now I need to figure out how everything works

It's surprising how much the S2 still costs even though the S3's already on the market.

    Enjoy

Picked up a brand new copy of Twisted Metal for 59 cents at Best Buy. Thank you $40 off coupon.

Also grabbed Infamous 2, Socom 4, Resistance 3, and Deus Ex: Human Revolution for $10 each.

I bought a new laptop earlier in the week. (Samsung NP900X4C).

It's a sexy piece of hardware. While I did feel a little annoyed that it went for 1400AUD at one store for a week before our financial year concluded, it was still nice to get it for 1600AUD vs the RRP of 1900AUD (with the next cheapest option at 1800AUD).

I also got a nicer pick as well since some models apparently contained an inferior sandisk100 SSD, but mine was a fast (and presumably more reliable) samsung in-house model. Still wondering if I want to upgrade it to 256gb as per the customised computer thread tho.

The display's super bright. I wonder whether I could go dimmer when I use it on its lowest setting only to find out that it is indeed as dim as it would go. Maximum brightness is blindingly bright. Even if I used it in direct sunlight it can be painful to look at. 6/8 brightness is already enough to combat the sun.

The only worry is the power adapter, since it has a small little projection to fit into the small female socket on the side of the laptop - as you'd expect from something this small that doesn't have Apple's magnetic connection. You have to hope no one trips over it while you're working.

Oh, and IRC works at uni now. That made me smile too.

It's a laptop made for cool people, so they assume you wear sunglasses when using it - thus the super bright screen.

I know I don't contribute much to the general discussion side of the forum but I hope you don't hold that against me too much. I think the main reason why I haven't been, especially this thread, is that I haven't had much of anything to really smile about. I been an addict for years now but I finally been getting clean the last few months. And today what made me happy was that I was able to go out and have a good time with a few friends and have a couple beers.... not that alcohol was ever my drug of choice and was far from ever abusing it.... but its nice to just know I have control over my addiction and can enjoy myself like everyone else now.

So today what made me smile was waking up with a purpose, to do my job, look into school, and then go out tonight to a pool hall/club and danced my ass off. I've always liked to dance and I been doing it alone in my room for so long now I think I'm pretty well versed in the art of the dance lols... but tonight me and my friend Corrin just got out there and danced our asses off. At first it was just us two out there and everyone else sorta lurking around.... then more people started to come and started getting loose and getting into it with us. Eventually the dancefloor area was packed (due to more people showing up too of course) but it still felt awesome for me, someone with anxiety especially about my appearance let alone dancing in public... but I just let go of it all, and with only a few cups of beer to help along the way...

But it was a great feeling dancing with a whole group of people I never met before and just going up to random groups of girls and dancing with them. Even better feeling when one came up to me and started saying "you must be on something cause you look like you're having such a good time" ....Nope, I was just enjoying life. For the first time in a long time. I wasn't even worried bout getting laid or any of that kid nonsense.

So to TL:DR today what put a huge smile on my face was simply enjoying myself and letting go of my anxiety to get on that dance floor and make it my home. And also being able to come here and share it with you guys. Thanks for that.

Getting clean from your addiction was a very difficult step.

    Great work.

I have the option to try to sell for 0.40$ on the dollar, but would have to sign contracts etc and would likely have to look for a while to find a buyer(but that is the going price). I am not in need of money at all(student loans), savings in bank account. Not sure if I should try to sell or not.
It's been more than one year but finally getting this back november 6th. Feels awesome. Ended up not selling and the entire thing has been really painful to keep track off because of news sites trying to get hits by claiming stuff that isnt important is important and similar, in the end I just gave up following. But just recently Pokerstars bought Full tilt Poker and will repay all customers. Yay.

    So...

Tomorrow I'm attending a Chris Brown red carpet event to celebrate his "channel launch" on my company's product. This is followed up with a shuttle service to an afterparty at the Manson murder site house (or at least what used to be). Also, my date for the event is a playboy model.

    Not even joking here, guys.

You better protect your date well; I heard that Chris Brown character likes to beat up women.

Wow that's a bit of the high life, Assertn. Hope you have a good time. Maybe take some pictures and post them here.

To keep in character: it sucks that a punk like Chris Brown has any kind of success or fanbase considering what a p.o.s. he is, and that's not just the woman-beater part. If it were my company, I would refuse his business. If I had any haxxing skills, I would d.o.s. his site and then egg his house.

    So, verdict from tonight:
    - Date was dumb as bricks. Declined going into her house after the party.
    - Showing up late to a red carpet event means waiting 2 hours to be able to park your car.
    - Apparently Rihanna showed up and was making out with Chris, so that's news, I think?
    - Fucking LA parking cops are opportunists.

    Oh and here's some pics:

Currently Watching: probably a show directed at 9 years old girls, lets be honest.

You know the important distinction between Batman and me? Batman is fictional. In real life, there isn't always an alternative.

Won a free pizza from Papa Johns. I've ordered a total of 2 pizzas from them in the past year, and I got 2 free pizzas out of it so far. Meanwhile, checking their facebook page there are dozens and dozens of people complaining its a scam and that they have never won even after years of loyalty as customers.
