    So would this system be considered "P2P"?

    My school has been cracking down on BT and other programs, so I've been looking for an alternative.

    I don't think this would be considered P2P, since all you're doing is downloading the files from the servers... it's like a direct download of sorts from the looks of it.

    Just focus on the having the right settings in place, and don't worry about subscribing to news groups, etc.

    Use binsearch.net and the likes to find things to download.
