    Kite Liberator

Well, back in 1998 a 2 episode OVA called Kite came out. It was very good in my opinion, good action and violent. Quite fucked up too. It had a couple of hentai scenes, but just the same there are some cut versions around that edited those scenes or just cut the scenes out of the release.

Here's the uncut version, which I recommend because I think that even if the hentai is a bit extreme, it actually adds to the story and into the character development. If anything just watch a bit of those scenes and then skip them if you don't can't handle some hentai:

Just the same, there are some cut versions around so look for them... probably what you might be looking for is the Director's Cut version, but I still say that the hentai adds to the story.

Anyways, a sequel came out this year, and from my understanding has no hentai... here are the releases:
    http://isohunt.com/torrent_details/3...or?tab=summary = Raw + Chinese subs apparently.
http://isohunt.com/torrent_details/4...or?tab=summary = Dual Audio with subs.

Don't know which is the best one.

Here's the description for Kite Liberator:

Years after the events that transpired in Kite, Sawa's whereabouts are a mystery. During this time, rumors of a new killer have begun to circulate the city. They call her the Angel of Death, an unfeeling assassin who eliminates her targets with grace and precision, leaving only a flurry of feathers as her calling card. What the public is unaware of is the fact that this notorious hitman is a actually a polite young lady named Monaka. Like her spiritual predecessor, Monaka has lost most of her family, and her father's duty as an astronaut keeps hims practically worlds apart. However, they are close despite the physical distances and Orudo promised his daughter that he would return. Until then, daily life for the timid and somewhat clumsy Monaka involves mostly school and her part time job as a waitress, but her nature completely changes once she receives an assignment.

Kite was a good movie. I'll be sure to check this one out.

Yeah it was... I think I'm going to watch it again before I watch the sequel. Don't really remember it that well other than I really liked it, some fucked up scenes, and some cool action.

The art and music are pretty good, and the voice acting is alrite as well......but i can't stand that guy who follows afro around. Hes so, well, black, for the lack of a better term (well thats not true, there is a better term, but i wont use it here)" Assassin

Kite was a very interesting series, but like NeoBear said, how did this sequel slip in under the radar? You'd think it would be a high profile release...

    Anyway, I'll download.

How did it slip under the radar? Well, just like most movies slip under the radar here unless it's a Naruto or Bleach movie.

Well speaking of movies, you know there's a Kara no Kyoukai movie that will be out soon on DVD? I haven't read the books but it certainly sounds very interesting see how it was the prototype for Tsukihime.

You can read the first 3 chapters on Mirrormoon
    http://mirrormoon.org/projects/kara_no_kyoukai

There was also a full translation going on, but the projet is now stalled, but at least the fourth chapter is available.

It's not really a prototype, it's more like a prelude of some sort. Something that happened before Tsukihime.

As for Kite, I'm currently download it.

Damnit, one of the releases I had posted is fucked up... doesn't even have english subs. It was the one that the torrent included a font, a .ass, and an mkv called Kite Liberator OVA [DVD 864x432 H264 AC3].mkv. Maybe the raw is still usable.

Downloading the other one to check out. I already have a version that came out a couple of weeks ago, but the torrent for that has no seeds. My file is called Kite.Liberator.2008.DVDRip.XviD-MESS.avi, plus I have some separate subs for that if anyone is interested.

The other one is okay (the one with only the mkv, no extra files except the demonoid.txt). I downloaded it and opened it in MPC enough to see it has English subs. Haven't watched the whole thing yet, though.

I don't think this one has explicit sex, but I will be disappointed if it doesn't.

Lol, and here I thought you were asking because you didn't want to touch any hentai. And yeah Mezzo Forte was an awesome movie too, and I really liked Mezzo DSA myself. Too bad it was a short series because I really liked the characters and the action was really good.

To clear things up for all:

Kite, Kite Liberator, and Mezzo all take place in the same universe.

Just like Tsukihime, Fate/Stay Night, and Kara no Kyoukai.

I liked all the Green Bunny OVAs and series in the past (hentai or otherwise), so I was looking forward to this one too. They've been hyping it for a while, and I believe the release in both countries was supposed to be simultaneous. It's just that the promotional site had really poor bandwidth, and most people couldn't get the videos to work. Everyone just forgot about it.

Oh, I didn't know Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night occurred in the same universe. I guess you learn something new every day.

I don't think the two would even have any blatant connection though. They share several of the same conventions though, as in the magicians. The connections between Kara no Kyoukai and Tsukihime are much more obvious and deliberate.

Trying to stay on topic, but these torrents have horrible seeds.

Just a question, at the end of Kite (the first one, not Liberator)
When Oburi is shot, did he go home to where Sawa is after that? Seeing as she was waiting and someone arrived(I think..). Or will we never know?
And the one who shot Oburi is the girl from the start when he shot the basket ball, right? Kids sure are fucked up in that world to shoot someone just because of a fucking basket ball..

Well, starting to watch Liberator now. (Is that really a Sequel?)

Yes, he was headed that way, but I don't think he ever made it.

And when I watched it, I thought it was rather certain that the kids shot him. I didn't think they were fucked up though. The world of Kite and Mezzo is not exactly a pretty one. If you shoot at someone with a gun, you should expect to be shot back. It was karma in a way. Shoot at an innocent, don't be surprised if they come back later.

Liberator is a spinoff. It involves people closer to the character of Kite than the characters in the other half of the world, Mezzo Forte and Mezzo (TV). But it is certainly a sequel as well, and I'll explain why I think so.
    --------------------------------
Mukai was Sawa. I thought after about 3/4 of the way through that the evidence was clear. The knife throwing, how well she handled herself before that. The agility in addition to the child. I believe she and the boy, Obori(?) from the original Kite did have sex a few times, so the possibility of a child is not totally out of nowhere. I don't remember it all that well.

But the speech gave her away. I didn't have a clue at first, but right after she gave the "special person" speech, it all clicked. It makes far more sense for Mukai to be Sawa if she is making a special point for Monaka to rush straight away to her special person, because that is exactly what Sawa failed to do all those years ago.

I definitely enjoyed this one. It had a sort of "happy" ending.

Monaka reminded me a lot of Toujo Aya from Ichigo 100%, the manga anyway.

The other nice touches were the Mikura figurine on the desk next to Monaka's during the bag check, and the bracelet with martian gems that purposefully looked like Sawa's Blood Ruby earings.
