One thing bothered me in this episode.

Sid is a zombie, right? I just find it a little hard to believe that he bleeds. It's not like he looks like a Dawn of the Dead zombie, the ripe kind. He looks like...really dead and dehydrated, bordering on mummy.

I don't know why you thought Shinigami was working with witches, but in any case the witches use each others for experiments anyway, so why would they shun somebody else who does the same? Besides, Shinigami is a real monster all the way to his looks, so it's not like they wouldn't know what they are getting.

I was under the impression the witches were running away from the Shinigami.

Well that was indeed some crazy piano playing but the fact that I didn't really get how Soul playing the piano was boosting everyone's power level kind of held the scene back for me. Medusa though, once again proved that she is still the most awesome villain, even in a little girls body. Shibusen rarely manages to catch a break, but maybe it's because they rely on untrained children to do all their heavy lifting.

Which makes me wonder how long the school has been around. They only have like, what, 8 Deathscythes? Only a couple showed up to help out also.

lololol Medusa is one tricky bitch. I like it.

Group soul synchronization. Wasn't this the stuff they were training some episodes away (only back then Soul didn't want to play)? This time Soul boosted it by playing the tune, and when they all attuned to the tune, it was a lot easier and likely a more powerful synchronization. At least that's what I thought.

I really have to wonder how long the school can continue to run. Shinigami-sama doesn't seem to be up to the task, considering how he lets Medusa to run around freely, doing whatever she wants to do. Surely he doesn't think she would do nothing, after doing such a wicked deed as freeing the Kishin. Why, Arache hasn't done anything for 800 years (or something) yet still she only has Shinigami-sama's attention. Maybe the dude has chopped his own head too many times.

I thoroughly enjoyed how Kilik used Black*Star as a shield when the illusory explosion occurred.

I also like chibi-Medusa's sock-puppet snakes. Very cute, and still very evil.

Concerning Medusa and Shinigami, Medusa said it very plainly here. Shinigami trusts Stein a great deal, and Stein reported he slaughtered Medusa. She excels at Soul Protect, so no one has any reason to believe she is alive.

Hmm... Is that so? I didn't remember that's the situation, and assumed they know Medusa survived. In fact I'm still not entirely convinced.

No one at Shibusen knows that she survived. Even Stein himself thinks she is gone for good, despite seeing images of her from time to time.

Which of course, only drives him crazier, exactly what she wants.

Now we have reason to believe that she may be directly causing his visions of her, and she even detailed a possible mode of delivery.

You have to admit, though, that that belief doesn't actually make Shibusen any wiser. They have no body and, more importantly, no soul yet they still believe she's dead? You'd think they have never been in the killing business before...

Stories where the bad guys have all the brains and nefarious plots, the good guys only virtue and unlimited luck always feel like they are missing something.

  13. #433
What's worse the good guys luck seems more related to them surviving missions, not actually accomplishing them. When I look at all the times we've seen Shibusen members actually accomplish an objective vs the times where they just survive the attempt it seems like Shibusen will eventually fall to its enemies by repeatedly losing strategic engagements.

So far they have managed to look cool while failing, but eventually they are going to have to get something right or the series is going to go stale.

They have succeeded on a couple of missions, like Death the Kid got the key from the train, and the zombie teacher and Black Star managed to destroy Mosquito's laboratory.

But yeah, they should better their results. Yet I think that can't be helped as long as Shinigami-sama doesn't take things seriously. Assuming he isn't taking them seriously. If he already is, after his own fashion, then they are doomed.

Something in the anime is bugging me, the only reason why shinigami cant leave Shibusen is because of the kishin? so what is he doing now staying in the school now that they are in a bigger pinch since its going to be like kishin, arachne and medusa agaisnt shibusen? and why is it that shinigami is just staying in the academy instead of helping them with their missions which could produce better results. this is just an opinion though.

He can't leave because his soul has been rooted into Death City to keep the Kishin trapped. The original plan was to not let the Kishin escape, but it kind of happened. I think Stein explained that Shinigami-sama can't just get up and walk around.

Okay let me watch that eps again. because from what i remember the only reason why he cant leave is because he is guarding the kishin. Thanks for the info.

Pretty much nothing at all happened in this episode, except for the pressure continuing to build upon Chrona and some new (ally) dude introduced. Next ep looks more promising, though I wonder if it's going to progress the story any more than this.

    Soul Eater: Episode 38

    [SEF]Soul Eater 38 (X.264 AAC 1280x720).mp4
    [SEF]Soul Eater 38 BIG (X.264 AAC 1280x720).avi
    [SEF]Soul Eater 38 (Xvid Mp3 1280x720).avi

I don't understand why there are 3 releases, but here they are.

    New group:
[Atlas]_Soul_Eater_-_38_[1280x720_x264_AAC][E13D5DEF].mkv - I downloaded SEF already, but if you're giving this a try, tell us what you think.

    -----------------------------------------------
First there's Black*Star, now there's a White*Star....or should it be the other way around? Anyhow, introducing the dad should add another layer to the story, or at least to Black*Star's past.

Good brawl anyway. I wonder how badly your self confidence has to be affected for you not to emit wavelengths. It's a bit hard to compare, since it's unique to only him and Stein (so far), and his (B.Star's) self confidence has always been kinda over-the-top.
