Anyway i'm not asking for much, just the following of the rules
I'm quoting this, including a part that was hidden because I think it is a fair assessment about the quality of the series, and fairly accurate too, especially because of the Afterword by the artist.
I think I'd really enjoy seeing Nightmare of Nunnally, provided the original CG scriptwriters and series director worked to clean up the inconsistencies, rework the pacing, and perhaps extend the plot out a bit so it could hit a few more interesting nuances (like various forces involved).
The biggest problem with NoN is that you had to know Code Geass entirely. There was just so much left unexplained under the assumption that the readers had seen the series. The work could never stand on its own in the current format.
Luckily for us, the artist even admitted all this at the end of the series, calling certain areas a failure because he was "too much of a fan."
All that said, I thought it was a really interesting premise, and wouldn't mind seeing a reworked and improved version as an anime.
after watching anime for a while, hearing this kind of news doesn't really bring me any reactions at all. it's vague enough that we might just be getting some compilation movies or a whole new series.
i guess, with a proven winner like Geass, Sunrise isn't going to stop riding it until the horse is totally dead (not bringing in enough money). it's not surprising in any way, and all i can honestly say is i don't care what the hell they do with it so long as they don't absolutely make a trainwreck out of it

SourceThe January issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Newtype magazine is announcing on Thursday that Tomomasa Takuma (Code Geass: Nightmare of Nunnally, Kurogane Communication) is drawing a manga that is tentatively titled Code Geass: Shikkoku no Renya (Code Geass: Jet-Black Renya or Code Geass: Renya of the Blackness) next year.
Goro Taniguchi, the director and story co-creator of the original Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion television anime series, created the new manga's story concepts and is scripting the story. This is the first manga that Taniguchi is directly scripting himself.
The story takes place in the same official Code Geass history as the anime, but in a different era. The title character, Renya, is a 17-year-old boy with a mechanical left arm and shuriken throwing stars as his weapons of choice. The story begins when Renya encounters a mysterious, perpetually young witch named "Reifū C.C." C.C. has appeared in Japan's historical Edo era to seek a new partner for a covenant. Meanwhile, a mysterious man, with a striking resemblance to the character Lelouch of the original anime, also appears with unknown intentions.
The new manga is part of next year's new Code Geass project launch. Code Geass producer Yoshitaka Kawaguchi revealed on the franchise's website that the new project will feature the simultaneous releases of serialized comics, music, new products under development, and visual works.
Update: Bandai Entertainment's Bandai Books imprint published three of the previous manga titles: Majiko's Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Takuma's Code Geass: Nightmare of Nunnally, and Atsuro Yomino's Code Geass: Suzaku of the Counterattack.

This one is officially canon, and takes place in historical Japan (1603 to 1868). Not to many details to speak of but it is confirmation the new Code Geass Project will in fact be a anime.
It's a good question what it's going to be all about. Fortunately I'm not any purity freak so I will wait for it with open eyes and an open mind.

R2 was different from the original intention because they shifted it to an earlier timeslot (5:00pm). That necessitated a recap for the new audience (why so much of the early parts were direct parallels to the first season's plot), and they toned it down as well.
One could say that the result was a great deal different than the original intention when the first series ended. I for one would appreciate less Sunrise clichés (resurrections, decoy ships, etc). They even overdid in on the technologically overpowering mechs. If Suzaku and Kallen were such great pilots, have them duke it on on pure skill rather than making it some over the top arms race. I felt that Sunrise approached that concept a lot better in the first season of Gundam 00 immediately before R2 aired.
...and I'm totally for Nightmare of Nunnally if they want to go there, but judging from the magazine scan and who is featured that is unlikely. However, that Zero in the background on the left looks a bit more feminine than normal, so it could be anything really. Maybe it is just all the text and graphics in front of it.
