The hand is quicker than the eye maybe true but it doesn't apply when that eye is the sharingan. Thats not important anyway the very fact that Sasuke broke out of it so easily was my problem.Originally Posted by Konohamaru
No because if when using genjutsu he would receive damage from the attacks he received during the genjutsu then using genjutsu itself would be quite pointless. Besides I don't remember Kakashi actually suffering any physical damage from the Tsukiyomi and I don't remember him coughing up blood either. The effects of the tsukiyomi were completely mental and when Kakashi got out he was just completely exhausted since he did feel the pain from all those attacks.Do you think Itachi's injury was due to him being stabbed earlier in the fight when he was sitting down in the chair? I know it ended up bieng a clone and all but genjutsu's usually effect the opponant it's used from. Kakashi ending up puking blood after the stab fest genjutsu Itachi put on him. Perhaps it's like the old dream thing saying where if you die in your dream, you die in real life. Perhaps if you're injured in a MS genjutsu it effects you in real life afterwards. Itachi did look somewhat surprised when being stabbed.
Anyway those are just my theories since we really don't know how genjutsu itself works and I don't think being able to inflict physical damage during genjutsu would be implausible especially Tsukiyomi which is supposed to be the most powerful and Deidara did say the technique Kakashi used on him was genjutsu but I don't think the effects would apply to the user as well, although itachi was trapped in Sasuke's genjutsu but I doubt Sasuke is capable of something like that.
