Does the (rather, will the) installer require a DVD copy of the game? Or will it work with the CD one?

If memory serves in the beginning it only worked with the CD version but now it works with both: CD and DVD. Though I'm absolutely sure only of the CD version because that's what I have.
I have the DVD version (but still without the voices), so I can confirm that one as well.
Both DVD and CD works, I tested them both.
The 1.0 patch(first public one?) supported both version too. Dunno about prior ones, but they should have been beta ones.

Heck, even saved the prologue on page one.
Everything is completed up to the end of UBW. All CG unlocked, the remaining ones are from HF.

That's very good to know that the wait is almost over. I've been really patient since i want to play the entire game in English all at once.
Most of you are probably aware of the sequel for F S/N that was released: Fate/Hollow Ataraxia
I'm not sure how many peoples on this forum know about AGHT and since i didn't see any mention of it in this thread, i will make a post about it here.
AGHT is in short: a text extracting tool for visual novel. You would use it to extract the Japanese text from the game and then translate it to English with another tool called Atlas.
There is a very good tutorial on how to get AGHT and Atlas started here.
Be aware that most of the translation will be engrish at best and you yourself will have to do some guess work. It's usually much better to try and translate one sentence at a time instead of the whole paragraph.
I know that this is quite a pain in the ass but it's pretty much the only alternative to learning Japanese or waiting for the full translation of this game comes out (which could take a few years).

Well it depend on how long ago that was. The old version of AGHT was not compatible with fate/hollow, but the new one released recently (8/24/08 i believe) has a coding that works with fate/hollow so try using KiriKiri. There are a significant number of peoples playing the game this way so it's probably coherent to some extent.
edit: I'm downloading the game right now so i'll test it first and post the result along with the working config later.
wasn't there a group translating fate/hollow? I think I've read something about that in the Mirrormoon forum
I already downloaded fate/hollow half a year ago or so... but I was hoping for someone to translate it so I didn't test that tool yet.
However Dark Dragon when you are done, tell us (me) how it worked out...

Indeed... If it was done the same way they are translating Fate/Zero, CLANNAD, etc... It would be done much faster.

http://mirrormoon.org/ has Crimson moon now, which usually means a release is coming very soon.. Thing is though, both Melty Blood Act Cadenza and Brass Restoration(their other projects) are close to release too so it's probably one of them - but it might be Heaven's Feel.
I never noticed that Crimson moon had to do something with releases.
i hope for Heaven's Feel. Act candeza would be fine too - but you know - i just prefer to play survuval mode with ciel and well - it does not need translation.

It feels more like Crimson Air since there's no moon.
This may also be a trick from the mirrormoon staffs, after all, it's Halloween.
The previous releases took a bit after the Crimson Moon first appeared, so allow it 1 week.
3 projects are close to/ready to release now, so it's a gamble for us. Either 1, 2, all of them, or none.
