    close. it'd have to be, likes birds and cats, black hair, and lives within 100 miles of parents. no reason to move out when i live in the same city as them

    haha no, unfortunately the academy awards committee doesn't randomly mail out oscar statues, no matter how much you want one. i did win an oskar, though, note the "k". it's the board's annual awards that get you a shiny image and not a whole lot else.

    Having been a lurker for a while now and I've finally decided to actually register, and introduce myself; though you probably won't be seeing too much of me even after this as I am rather shy and only post when I have strong opinions on any given topic as a result. I'm currently living in Clemson, South Carolina, as Bioinformatics masters student with a dual undergrad degree in Computer Engineering and Computer Science with two minors in East Asian and European languages and linguistics.     Lurking for a while is what everybody should do at any forum (aside from some technical support forums of companies) before posting (which requires registration of course). So, saying it confirms the person has proceeded following good conventions. From my point of view, it has nothing to do with being a n00b. Anybody who hasn't been a member for a long time is a n00b. And some people are perma-n00bs...

    And welcome, Ikepuska. You need to have strong opinions here, so don't hesitate to post, when the need arises.
