Dunno. If you think about it, the very fact they are so miserable writers yet still do that for living must be making their lives quite uncomportable and uninspiring as it is. It's a pity we can't enjoy the fillers more, but I bet they can't enjoy these episodes themselves, and that's far more sad than our repeated disappointments.
