I figured you were Singaporean. Is that not a nationality of its own? You look darker and more "island" than your usual Chinese person.

Well, my nationality is Singaporean, though I still belong to the Chinese ethnic group. Chinese here tend to distant themselves away from the mainland Chinese, and see themselves as different (much like the Taiwanese).

I look dark? You should see me when I was back in cadet school. You might have thought I was indian or pakistani.
