    Manga: Psyren

    Well this is a new series that recently started in Japan, two chapters have been scanlated:

    So far it looks very promising, with some cool characters for a shounen series. The fights look like they will be interesting and the plot seems good so far. So, I'd say it's worth a look for now... any of you checked it out by any chance?

    Yoshina Ageha is a high school student who offers to help people with their problems for 10,000 yen. He'll take care of your stalkers, find your lost animal, whatever you want. One day when he's heading home, a nearby pay phone rings, and he picks it up. The only thing he hears however is his own voice echoing. After finding a mysterious card with the word 'Psyren' printed on it, his life suddenly changes as he is drawn into a crazy new world.

    Story is progressig nicely, this last chapter had a bit of a Gantz feel to it. No one has checked this series out yet? I'm pretty sure most of you would enjoy it... it looks promising so far.

    Well, finally decided to catch up to the latest release, chapter 13... anyone started reading this or any of you still following it?

    I think it has been quite good so far, it has been setting up the story quite nicely and I think it'll get even better soon. The super powers being manifested seem interesting and the way it has been described, the ways it can manifest itself is limitless so we'll surely see some cool powers being used in the future.

    I thought it was quite a nice chapter, and the chick at the end does look interesting, I wonder who she is and what her purpose is, especially with that breathing mask on and killing off those people.

    I thought it was a guy at the end but what do I know. I have been reading this as well and I really enjoy the Gantz feel to it with simpler art and on a weekly basis which is nice. I really hope the Idol guy die's, he is kind of annoying.

    Well, the eyes the character has makes me believe that it's a chick...

    And yeah, I hope the idol dies, but I see him being around for a while... I think we'll have a couple of funny scenes with Ageha's sister and him.

    Well good thing we have one more person interested in this...

    Great...we are growing...baby steps at the time. It's interesting how good Asaga has gotten with Psi. And I am getting curious about Ageha's Psi ability AND that girl who showed up. So for now...too many questions...not enough clues.

    Just figure I should let you guys know I'm following this too. Love the Gantz feel of this like you guys have mentioned and I wanted something similar to read since Gantz is well Gantz and the randomness is so annoying and I'm not into Deadman Wonderland. This last guy* should fill out the cast since the characters seem to be your standard shonen stuff, if anything thats the only problem I have with this manga so far, the characters are boring and generic but its too early to start nitpicking. Really interesting though and like NeoCybercoin, I too have a lot of questions.

    Btw is it just me or are you guys just not observant because wasn't the guy*, yes it is a guy, that showed up in the end the same guy Asaga bumped into earlier and thats why they showed us the panel of Asaga recognizing him.Notice the same hair line and the little white patch in the center.Here and Here

    and does this guy remind anyone else of Terra?

    That's a good catch... well might as well be a chick, he looks completely gay. And don't ruin a perfectly good thread by bringing up Terra in here.


    Well you know, that's the bad thing about reading chapters two weeks or so appart. Might've caught it if I was reading the chapters in bunches.

    I was thinking the guy kinda looked like Hei from Yuu Yuu Hakasho. Chapter 17 by blinktopia is out, http://mangashare.com/ ,and I thought it was pretty good, next should be even better.

    The repeated refreshing of this thread sparked my interest and now I'm following Psyren also :P

    It's a lot better than most of the other series' that I've tried starting recently, so I think it'll be a keeper. The introduction of psi really opens up a lot of possibilities about where this manga can go. The action scenes have also been refreshingly clear so far - it's easy to see what is happening unlike many other series out there.

    Yep... just read chapter 17, and that shotgun using burst is great. Wonder when our people will get some weapons like that, though the chick already has a sword with her.
