useless? it might hint at the kind of art direction they are going for.

Start thinking like a dev? Ok. Looks to me like they spent a ton of money to create a really nice minute long animation in order to get all the mindless gamers like yourself to drool over the fact that theyre making a new SF game.

    trailers with no gameplay footage=useless

Must agree on that one. I hate game trailers without gameplay footage. They fill no real purpose other to get fanboys all excited. And of course the more stupid gamers too think the animation sequence/cinematics are the actual gameplay. I have encountered those too <_<

Teasers are created to grab attention, like what it's doing now.

I have lots of fond memories playing SF II back when it was released on the Super Famicom (SNES). SF III was disappointing, but I played a lot of the Zero (Alpha) series in the arcades back then.

SFIII: Third Strike was a pretty fun game. The only disappointing part of that game were the characters. I found myself only playing Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Chun-li, Makoto, and Ibuki. Everyone else, I pretty much pushed aside.

I was pretty disappointed that this was Capcom's big news, but then again it wasn't as bad as I thought it could be.

The Street Fighter series is something that isn't to be underestimated, it's still a solid franchise even today. Street Fighter III: Third Strike wasn't disappointing, they've just added new elements which old school gamers weren't familiar with, and it just took a little time in getting used to. The Alpha series is still my favorite series to this day, though.

SF3 was awesome. Especially in third strike, I love the fighting system. Though, punishing after a parry was a bit overpowering and way too easy. They should have lowered the damage output after a parry.

But like many people have said, the disappointing factor in the game was how homo all the new characters were. After the Alpha series having such an awesome cast, the SF3 cast were not even up to standard.

    Picture from the actual game

Capcom's Street Fighter 4 will reportedly feature new techniques, new locations and gameplay features, while retaining the classic six-button layout and 2D fighting system. Capcom, however, hasn't yet specified exactly which platorm(s) will host Street Fighter 4.

Aside from the barrel-chested Ryu featured in the screenshot above, Capcom will reportedly be bringing back other familiar faces such as Ken, Dhalsim and Chun-Li for Street Fighter 4. In fact, you'll probably notice that the environment in the picture above looks like a souped up version of Chun-Li's stage from Street Fighter 2.

I prefer my street fighter characters cartoony, like the Zero (alpha) series.

That ken picture is ridiculously ugly. I hope the devs don't approve of such an ugly thing to be put into the game.

I can't wait until 2/17/2009, to get my hands on this game. This is one of my three most wanted games, along with King of Fighters XII and Fight Night: Round 4. I love the fact that they added six extra fighters to the home version. Cammy and Fei Long from Super Street Fighter II and Dan, Sakura, Gen, and Rose from the Alpha series. Hopefully it will be as good, if not better than Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike.

The details of the Collector's Edition, were announced. It will contain a system specific item. Along with the game itself, the Collectors Edition pack, which will be available for both the PS3 and Xbox 360, will include the following contents housed in a classic Street Fighter scene outer case.
    • Limited edition figurines of all time favourite character Ryu and the all new character Crimson Viper, positioned within the familiar settings of the 'crowded Chinese downtown'.
    • A bonus disc containing a 65-minute feature length HD quality anime movie, created specially for the launch of Street Fighter IV and a selection of the best game trailers to date. PS3's bonus disc will be on Blu-Ray.
    • A Udon/Prima mini strategy guide created in the style of a comic art book detailing the moves and biographies of four of the new characters to the series; Viper, Abel, El Fuerte and Rufus.
    • Downloadable Content: 5 Alternate Costumes.
    • CD Soundtrack.
Also, the Trophy list was released for the PS3 version today. Street Fighter IV contains a total of 48 trophies. 35 bronze, 10 silver, 2 gold, and 1 platinum. Trophy List

This is the first game I have acutally looked forward to for about 10 years. Looking forward to hitting the online gameplay with this.
