how about Kaiji, Last Exile, Genshiken, Earth Maiden Arjuna, you said no idiotic lead characters, but still maybe Now and Then, Here and There, and Detroit Metal City. yeah, just go over those anidb pages and see what you think.

@Dark Dragon - I'm impressed that you have seen those already. Since I managed to only give you one, how about:
Gun X Sword - Main character is bent on revenge, so some emo-ness is present, but he is hardly moping. Good mecha and fighting action.
Spiral - Suiri no Kizuna - The anime doesn't really finish the story, but I think the manga is done, so you can just continue from there. Main character is intelligent, and the story involves a lot of outsmarting the enemy.
Maria-sama ga miteru (all seasons)- Just wanted to throw this in there. If you really do watch all genres, you might also enjoy this yuri classic. Nice calm slice of life, with very good drama and interesting characters.
Kannazuki no miko - You have probably seen this, but I will post it anyway. One of the best anime stories told, if it hadn't been ruined by the ugly mecha and inconsistent art. Still, a great watch.
Ichigo Marshmallow - Cute and funny. If you have even the slightest lolicon tendency, watch this. If you don't, it is still worth watching because of the fluffy humour, and Coppola.
EDIT:
I'll throw in:
Speed Grapher - just in case you haven't seen it.

Peace.
I've watched around 200+ different series so far so i usually go to Anidb or another such website to look for new things to watch, but it's lately most series just look the same and i download whole series through torrent. It was getting difficult to find stuff to watch from just the databases.
I haven't seen some of the series you and pandaice suggested though so i'll get started on them. I already started watching Jungle wa Itsumo Hare nochi Guu through stream and it's brilliant.
Thanks for the help both of you.
I am glad I have converted another person to the way of the Pokute. It makes the trouble worth it.
Peace.
What's the general opinion on Fafner? A quick look around yields mixed responses, but it looks like something I'll enjoy, I think.
The OP is pure awesomeness, even better than Angela's own Gravitation.

If it's not Isuzu-chan Mii~
If you like SEED art and EVA/Rahxephon like stories, then you will most likely enjoy fafner, though not too much. The dialog (script) sucks, and the characters are kinda weak, but the deaths and story make up for it.
Peace.
I watched Yu Yu Hashuko recently, and it was pretty sweet. Thumbs up.
"After all, I am strangely colored."
Yeah, that was the show that got me into anime, followed by Rurounikenshin.
Peace.
So what's good this season?
Someone post what they're watching and why pls, i have no idea what's good so far.
well this season i'm watching
Bakemonogatari
- this one is super artsy. if you like abstract style, and like to fanboy over a popular female character, then you'll like this series.
Canaan
- personally I'm not too impressed with this one. It's just kinda a flashy action that seems to take itself too seriously. but if you're into guns and chicks, then you might like this one.
Sora no Manimani
- a great comedy (i've seen the least amount of episodes for this one). it's a romance/comedy with great characters.
Taisho Yakyuu Musume
- this one's pretty interesting. it's a baseball series set in like the 1920s or something. these girls decide to form a baseball team to play the boys. and it's good so far.
Tokyo Magnitude 8.0
- this is by far the most interesting of the season, imo. a giant earthquake hits tokyo. it's got great like social realism, and appears like it's gonna be a sibling bonding anime. it's pretty awesome so far.
Umineko no Naku Koro ni
- dude this one is creepy. it's a horror/mystery about this rich family. it's like twisted, but at the same time addictive O_o.
and i watched the first episode of Kanamemo, but decided not to keep watching...

It's pretty much as you said Shinta.Originally Posted by shinta|hikari

It was a still a fairly good watch though, so thanks for answering.

Princess Lover! - What appears to be the ecchi harem series this season. There appears to be more depth and character development to this than the average harem series. It's a lot more like Shuffle! than it is like Akane-Iro ni Somaru Saka. Nowhere near as serious as White Album, but there is a lot of subtlety to the characters. Girls actively and very purposefullyOriginally Posted by Archangelleading the male lead onplaying coy, with a bit of humor and a very interesting social class dynamic. This series really came as a surprise in how much better it is turning out than I expected.
Canaan - Contrary to Pandadice, I've been suitable impressed with this one. You would probably recognize Takeuchi Takashi's character design (TYPE-MOON), and the series has some very impressive gunslinger characters, but I almost find the side characters to be more impressive in their own ways. A lot of bad things are about to go down in Shanghai, and you're never really sure what is going on right now, just that two people seem to be in the center of it, while quite a few more are already involved or are about to get dragged into it.
Umineko no Naku Koro ni - If you watched Higurashi this series is an absolute given. If you didn't, you'll see why you should have after watching this. A confusing as hell horror/mystery with some pretty gruesome murders all within one very wealthy family on an island. Witchcraft, greed, love, pride and a healthy dose of insanity makes for such fun.
That's really all I picked up this season, aside from Spice and Wolf II, which I am behind on.

Spice and Wolf II - Fantastic, with more character and plot development this season.
CANAAN - Superb action, and an interesting story that slowly gets revealed.
Bakemonogatari - Probably contains some of the best conversations between characters you will hear in anime.
Peace.
What's Spice and Wolf about?
And from whom should i get the first season?
Spice and Wolf is about a merchant who runs into a Wolf Spirit, and agrees to accompany her back to her home town up North. Her wisdom helps him profit from his trade, but she also dangerously attracts the Church. The setting is an alternate world similar to Medieval Europe, and it is a story about their journey.Originally Posted by Archangel
Sudo is probably the best group that subbed S&W. Their rather unhealthy torrent is here:

For ultimate quality(and arguably unneccesarrily huge file sizes), Thora is releasing Blu-Ray episodes with Sudo subs via IRC

They're mighty slow though.
Forget all that.

If you have seen Code Geass, or know of the talented seiyuu in it, Jun Fukuyama (Lelouch) and Ami Koshimizu (Kallen) are also voicing the main characters. Ami in particular, does a fantastic job, one of the best I've heard in fact.
It is partly because of these two that the series is so entertaining despite the lack of action, or dynamic plot.
Peace.
Thanks for the tips, but i think i'll go with Aiako for mid quality and decent torrent speedOriginally Posted by Buffalobiian
I just followed everyone's recommendation and watched Hunter X Hunter TV, and waiting for the OVAs to finish downloading.
You sure this show is Shounen? I thought Kurapica was cute and Hisoka was sexy.
(Bishounen FT- .....wtf has this show done to me...)

It doesn't really get shounen on your ass after a couple of episodes, during the spider arcOriginally Posted by Buffalobiian
From what i read in wikipedia, most of clamp's series take place in the same universe right?
If i were to watch some of them, should there be any special order?
I'm interested in Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, XXXHolic and Chobits
