Not yet. My list of "to be watched"-anime is growing every day it feels :/ I´m currently watching Mirai Shounen Conan without subs to train my Japanese, then I´ll watch Madoka, because a friend strongly recommended it to me. After that it´s either time for "The daughter of 20 faces" or a re-watch of "Fantastic Children" in synch with aforementioned friend. Then I also need to finished Eureka Seven: Astral Ocean. And then I will watch Bungo Stray Cats or whatsitcalled. And I´m also behind with Jojo and Terra Formers. Argh :/

Nah. Watch The Daughter of Twenty Faces first. Hidden gem there.

And don't bother with the Madoka series at this point. Just watch the three films.

I love The Daughter of Twenty Faces.

And keeping with the earlier question, another series that has rumors of being animated is 3x3 Eyes. It's one of my favorite manga series ever, and one that walks the line between shounen/seinen.

Though I'm not getting my hopes up in it getting a full series anime despite this rumor of a secret project. It's got some OVAs quite some time back. Don't recall if they were good, but they probably were good enough at least to get me to track down the manga series. I recall though that it skipped quite a bit important events, so might as well not bother with it all told. Though I don't recall really how much I enjoyed it.

You can download the manga series here:

That said, I'll be secretly crossing my fingers that it manages a new anime series in the coming future.

I recently watched Patema Inverted, great movie. Are there any other movies like it? Or like Children who chase lost Voices, Brave Story? Love these movies.

Haven't watched it, but how about Origin: Spirits of the Past.

I guess the real question is, what about these movies did you like that you're looking for more of.

I love the whole "reality meets fantasy" concept (even though Patema could be argued ...), combined with sympathetic, likeable main characters. If I had to summarize in one word what I like: The "whimsy". There´s nothing cool, edgey or whatever about them. There are certainly dark scenes, but it´s balanced with lighter scenes. Anime-series that I´d liken to that concept are "Peter Pan no Boken" or "Now and Then, Here and There".

The specific setting doesn´t matter, can be fantasy, scifi, or whatever.

The hero is the opposite of edgey and balances it all.

Just found this other anime, "The Life of Budori Gusko", with animal characters. Looks nice.

I think you'd like 3x3 Eyes, seinen with shounen adventure tendencies, but main character should be the likable sort you like. Yet, we only have a couple of OVAs from a very long manga series. Just don't recall if the OVA is worth watching. I love the series though.

There's also potential in El Hazard series of OVAs and what not. I don't recall them though.

Hard to think of movies without the usual suspect ones already mentioned.

I think I know El Hazard. Only like 3 episodes, which sucks because it´s introducing great world.

Might be familiar with it, but not on the amount of content.

It had 2 different sets of OVA series for a total of 11 episodes and a sequel 12 episode TV series. There's also another 26 episode TV Series, which I think I ignored way back when since I think it's a retelling of some of the content found in the OVAs or such.

I would say all the Tenchi OVA meta-universe.

Photon, Tenchi Ryo-Ohki OVAs, Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari.

GXP to a lesser degree (it's not nearly as good).

    You're basically looking for high-quality 90s anime.

Throw in some Chrome Shelled Regios, Outlaw Star, the Gunbuster OVAs, Steamboy, Kite, Rideback, and end it with Pumpkin Scissors. A steampunk/scifi blend to go with the fantasy.

I'd even defend Robotics;Notes to the death, since it is a great take on the exploitation of Augmented Reality, particular when it begins to bleed into reality. You really have to look at it as a psychological series rather than a mecha series.

Chrome Sheeled Regios was low-quality, come on. And I´m really looking for movies here. I´m trying to find the best movies that I actually buy on Bluray.

I started watching Gunbusters, since it´s Hideaki Anno´s Evangelion predecessor.

Rideback and Pumpkin Scissors also are far from movie quality. Kite is shit. Steamboy ... thanks, already forgot about that. Whenever I see its boxart, I tell myself "gotta watch that!", then I forget.

I haven't. I began it a while back, but what I've seen so far I wouldn't really associate them. Though I've only watched like 3 episodes.

Been waiting to get back in the mood for it, don't have it yet.
