So, Im kinda lost this season. Watching One Punch Man of the new shows. And Gundam and Utawarerumono, though the latter isnīt that outstanding (yet?). Have any must-sees manifested already?

Since I love Boku dage ga inai Machi TOO much, I need some recommendations. PLEASE! Any other shows similar to that one or Ano Hana? I already know stuff like Boku to Kimi, though Iīd say that one isnīt really featuring what makes the other two so enjoyable, which is:
- some sort of (not overblown!) mystery
- reminiscing oneīs own childhood/teenager"hood"(?)
Would love to get some anime that are like that and have nice animation and music, too.

A friend is driving me nuts, calling Noein and Hunter X Hunter "shit", because "itīs like Dragon Ball". Yeah :/
He likes Death Note, but hates fantasy and fighting. What he likes about Death Note is the intelligent, clever story and how everything is woven together. Anything like it? I thought of Code Geass, of course, but thatīs too fantasy and has lots of fighting. :/

It's hard to recommend stuff without fighting and fantasy. That only leaves sci-fi if you want a relatively smart and complex story. Other awesome anime are more episodic or comedy.

Are you sure he doesn't like "fighting" or is it more like "I don't like Naruto" (-fights) and/or other "we face a different enemy every 5 episodes"-low quality shows

If he doesn't like fighting, then that would exclude stuff like GitS for example, if he just doesn't like people shooting lasers out of their hands and getting power ups, that would only exclude most shounen.
he hates "style over substance", which for him applies to all the fights I mentioned. Itīs frustrating :/

Hunter X Hunter, as awesome as it is, is classic shounen. It is just done very, very well.
Noein is a different show altogether, so it doesn't really say much if he doesn't like both. Just maybe, he is too picky.
Have you tried recommending the guy the stuff mentioned above?

Chobits isn't just romance and comedy, it's just a front. Or maybe it's too pretentious to see more than that ?
And seriously, I do not see why it would be a bad choice with Sailor Moon and Pokemon mixed in... And even Death Note.
