    @ Munsu

Akame ga Kill? Didn't see it being listed
I don't *exactly* know what Gotwoot things about this show but from what I gather in the thread, no one dislikes it.

It's without doubt my favorite summer-show.
It's dark(er), the fights are pretty cool and the MC is all right too. Not useless, not overpowered. He makes mistakes but he learns from them, a rare trait in Anime in my opinion.

I read the Akame ga Kill manga and really like it. I'm unsure about watching the anime yet, just want to make sure they don't botch up the story in particular if at any point in time it decides to diverge from the manga story or have some sort of anime-only ending that doesn't fit the manga storyline.

So I'm definitely interested in watching it, but I'm on wait and see just in case.

    Thanks for the suggestion.
Tried to search for AS and ED.
Seems like I'll have to dl that at 200KB/s, and with yellow and horrible font for subtiles if I want to get rid of dubtiles.

    Thanks for the suggestions

Since someone called it a "master piece" in another thread: If I found the original "Fate Stay Night" anime only "okay", should I watch all the sequels? I remember that animation was good, but tbh the plot wasnt that great, rather generic shounen stuff. Did it get better? If so, what are the sequels called? I believe thereīs one called "Fate Stay Night Zero" or something like that.

I think ED doesn't do any styling, but I'm pretty sure Anime-Supreme (at least in some of the downloads I did way back when) does style its fonts.

As for downloading, I think these are mainly IRC groups and from what I recall Anime-Supreme had some very good download bots, but I really haven't gotten anything from them in quite some time.

I probably tested at a bad time. For AS, seems the archive bot with that show was not up at the time.

@Mfauli - Since it was me who called it a soon to be "masterpiece," I will answer your question. The VN is far better than the anime. The anime for FSN was pretty bad because they skipped content, converted sex to mental dragons, and mixed information from 3 different routes near the end. It also had horrible, horrible art that made the protagonist more annoying than he should be.

The Unlimited Blade Works route has tons of action, and with Ufotable doing this adaptation, you can expect loads of eye candy. The studio also mentioned that it would be more mature, much like Fate/Zero. FSN wasn't a masterpiece. UBW is going to be.

The prequel Fate/Zero, on the other hand, IS a masterpiece.

Okay, so if I watch Fate/Zero and this upcoming one, Iīm set? Or any other Fate Stay-series I need to watch? Is the original anime still revelant for all these other adaptations?

That's my only issue with the Fate universe. I'm not a fan of different series using different routes and what not. I want a TRUE story, like the absolute account of events and that's it. I don't like rehashes of an event, but with different circumstances based on a "different route" and what not.

I guess it'll be an entertaining watch, but in the end it just cheapens the overall story for me.

So unless I'm misunderstanding something (as I've only really watched the original Fate and the UBW movie), I just have little attraction of seeing the same characters going through the events in different ways depending on a particular adaptation.

Considering how Fate Zero gave so relatively much screen time to Rin Tohsaka as one of the most prominent character's daughter in Fate Zero, I'd say watching Fate Zero and then UBW, which is Rin's route, would make a pretty smooth larger story. She didn't really need to appear that much in Zero at all, as she had no real role in it, but in retrospect one can look at it as tying the prequel to the sequel much more fluently.

The true version has yet to get its due. It'll get a movie first, then hopefully a full series of its own like UBW got.

When you get through all the possibilities and inconsistencies, Heaven's Feel is the only version of the story that puts an end to everything and closes all the character arcs, especially since Fate/Zero has become established canon. It's also the only version that connects FSN to the rest of the Nasuverse.

Indeed. Rin was just loli service for F/Z.

Half the reason to watch UBW is the action. The other half is Rin. Who cares about the story? Everyone who knows of UBW has probably been spoiled to death by now.

I actually only like UBW because of the increased focus on poor tragic Caster.

So for now you say that I can watch all these possibilities and what not and enjoy them just for the heck of it, but then once Heaven's Feel comes out and whatever continuities are tied to it I can just go and say this is it, this is the true storyline and done?

Anyways, if that's the end of it I think we should stop discussing Fate in this thread.

Please recommend me something currently running as part of the fall season. :/ Seriously, I need at least one or two more shows, my entertainment week feels to sparse.

    Im currently following:

    Parasyte
    Terra Formers
    Garo
    Gundam Build Fighters Try
    Grisaia no Kajtsu
    Log Horizon S2
    Ace of Diamond
    SAO
    Mushishi

I wonder if Im missing some really high quality anime. Would be great if you could name something, maybe put it into categories like:

    - must-see
    - great
    - good
    - okay

I know that the new Fate-anime seems to be popular. I know. So donīt recommend that :P

    thx!

    Must-see:
Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso - Music and drama. I've read the source material, and the adaptation looks good.
Fate Stay Night: UBW - Soon to be masterpiece. Action is top notch.

    Great:
Amagi Brilliant Park - Kyo-Ani show that is actually good. Fanservice is delicious with great comedy.
Psycho Pass 2 - Sequel. Watch the first. Detective story with a great setting and premise. Gorey.
Hitsugi no Chaika: Avenging Battle - Sequel. Watch the first too. Good adventure story with great characters.
Shingeki no Bahamut - Very nice surprise. This avoids a lot of anime tropes, yet manages to be entertaining to an otaku. Good art, too.
Akame ga Kill - Leftover from previous season. Very good shounen about assassins. Lots of death and tragedy.

    Okay:
    Cross Ange
    - Violence and death. Lots of women. Annoying characters. You might wanna try it for the gore?

    EDIT:
Looking at this lineup, this turned out to be the best anime season in terms of overall quality in many, many years.

so ill watch the new gundam anime. ive only watched the build fighters-anime before that.

what gundam anime would be a great start into the franchise? Thereīs many of them afaik, but I have no idea which one is both beginner friendly (not too confusing with its self-references) and not too old in terms of animations. Some good middleground would be appreciated.

Gundam 00 is the only one I think is actually any good, and it gets pretty ridiculous near the end of season 1 and onwards.
    I've seen:
Seed, Age, Reconguista, and bits and pieces of other ones

Reconguista had potential if it made any sense at all.
