so much fun, great animation, action, nice humor
what a suprise, at first I was "wtfuck japan?" but then ?! must watch in my book for everyone who likes tanks in general or stuff like World of Tanks!
    Totally agree.

It is a surprisingly good show. It's not so much a girls in tanks show, as it is a girls in tanks show. At first it seems like a run of the mill moe garbage series with an odd premise (like Stella C3 has turned out to be...), but the focus is really on the tanks and the battle strategies more than anything else.

It's a show for tank otaku, not moe otaku.

the best thing is that there is sequel movie in production in addition to the OVA which is comming soon.

the TV show already had really good animation (throughout the whole show, especially during battles but also when they went shopping and stuff) I can only guess how awesome the first and third person scenes will look in movie quality

so, I'm telling you guys to watch this show if you havn't already... and you'll be ready for the ova this - and the movie next year

watching new ep of log horizon made me think:

is there an anime that turns around the usual "real life loser goes online and is some awesome guy" into a "online-world somehow becomes relevant for real life and suddenly gives the loser hero advantadges of whatever kind"? Kinda like what happened at the end of Sword Art Online, except that that main character already learned kendo before playing online.

"She's the only non-loli girl in the show, your honor!" will be my defense in court

You mean like aside from Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai, where dating games makes Keima the god of seducing girls, or like Accel World where (not important to the overall plot at all) they can cheat on tests or sports and have private conversations in the real world *a* special ability earned from an online game?

Hagure Yuusha no Aesthetica the only thing that comes remotely close to what you're asking for, and isn't what you're asking for at all. Where upon returning from a period of being kidnapped to an alternate world, high school kids retained their learned magical abilities.

The World God Only Knows was a little bit like it, I guess, though too comedy-heavy for it to be that interesting. Still liked the show. Accel World definitely has at least one strong element; I forgot its name, but you know, the scene where the girl uses real world acceleration to save the boy from a car accident. Awesome moment.

That last example of yourīs doesnīt really match what I meant. Thatīs more of your typical world-travelling-thing, which I feel like happens rather often. No, no, I really mean anime where a "loser in real life, awesome in virtual world"-theme exists and then the virtual experience somewhat overlapes with reality and starts helping the loser to get better. Nothing like that? It sounds like such an obvious, interesting idea that Iīd be surprised for it to not have happened already.

    Btoom, but its bad :/
if you leave out the "online game" part however then thats another story.

Black Lagoon or even Full Metal Panic use the same effect if you ask me

so, i just finished watching the two Gantz-live action movies, and I actually liked them. Are there more quality anime-to-real movies?

I know about the Death Note-movies, the Kaiji-movies and Casshern. Also Phoenix Wright. Anything else that is not complete shit?

The Kenshin movie was surprisingly good, all things considered. It's getting sequels as well, which I'm looking forward to.

shit like that annoys me to no end. are there any anime where asshole/bully children are punished/killed as a consequence of their behavior? Kinda in the mood for that :>

    I have a manga I can recommend:

Koe no Katachi. The one shot fits your description, the actual manga born from it kinda deviates as it developed.

    Recent? Thatīs hard.

You probably already watched Jojoīs Bizarre Adventure. Berserk, too. How about the Gintama-anime? Itīs mostly comedy, but when it gets serious, Gin-san is one of the most badass badasses ever.

I'm not sure what you have seen and how far back I should go, but here are some from the last 2 years.

    2013
Arpeggio of the Blue Steel - Intelligent and composed protagonist who commands ships.
Majestic Prince - Goofy protagonist that goes eva berserk good in mecha combat.
Mondaiji tachi ga... - OP protagonist. Bad ass incarnate.
Servant x Service - Slice of life, but one of the male characters is pretty bad ass in life.
Strike the Blood - Not really bad ass, but he is one of the strongest in the show.
Unbreakable Machine Doll - The protagonist has his moments. He is smart, calm, yet has that shounen passion.

    2012
Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero - Extremely powerful protagonist with an attitude.
Dog Days 2 - The protagonist is a hero with top tier fighting skills.
Fate/Zero - I didn't want to include this because it should be obvious, but whatever.
Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere - Most of the characters are bad ass. In fact, it is just a confusing mess if not for all the bad assery.
Hyouka - Main character has amazing deductive skills, impressing people in and out of the show.
Medaka Box - Medaka is crazy perfect.
Psycho Pass - The protagonist is silent and brooding, but has amazing skills and intellect.
Sword Art Online - People actually hate the protagonist for being too bad ass.
    <img src=https://ibb.co/1dDDk6w border=0 alt= />
    Peace.

I've seen all of those except Gintama. I tried Gintama way back when and didn't care for it. Does it get better than what you find initially?

I've only watched Mondaiji, Psycho-Pass, and Sword Art Online from above... will check out the others to see if they're of interest.

For shame shinta, you didn't mention Tempest. Three variations of badasses. Brains (Yoshino), Brawn (Mahiro), and Magic (Hakaze).

No worries, already plan on watching it... just waiting to see if anyone releases it on bluray at the moment.
