woot? whats wrong with love hina? I enjoyed it.

buts its more funny than romantic (while true tears is only romantic and actually not even a bit funny) I'll never forget the bus-chasing scene "you lost your ID-card"

even love hina again! was pretty decent, because the roles changed ^^

hmmm does School Rumble fit in the "romantic/comedy" genre? Its funny as hell but its not really "romantic" is it? even though I want to know who gets who in the end

Romantic comedy, here are a couple:

    Suzuka
    Kimagure Orange Road
    Shuffle!!
    School Rumble
    DearS
    Chobits
    Aishiteruze Baby
Kare Kano (His and Her Circumstances)
    Marmalade Boy
    Boys Over Flowers

Thanks! I already watched most of your suggestions except Kimagure Orange Road and Marmalade Boy. Love Hina is alright but it seems its more comedy than romantic. Boys over Flowers I enjoy more in manga than in anime. Maybe its being slow-paced is putting me off, but its still a great love story more than anything (Actually I watched the live-action first).

The main issue with Love Hina is that it is a terrible adaptation of the manga, and beyond that it is just a harem rehash of Yume de Aetara and Maison Ikkoku. I loved Love Hina back then, but after I read the two series it largely ripped off, the anime version fell out of my favor.

    Romance and Romantic Comedies:
(I'll second several of Munsu's suggestions)

    More towards the serious/realistic titles:
(closer in tune to what you initially suggested you were after)
ef - a tale of memories
    Good Witch of the West
    Aishiteruze Baby
    Honey and Clover
    Honey and Clover II
    Paradise Kiss
    NANA
    REC
    Kare Kano
Hana Yori Dango (Boys over Flowers)
    Asatte no Houkou
    Kimi ga Nozomu Eien

    The middleground:
    Kimagure Orange Road
    Ai Yori Aoshi
    Ai Yori Aoshi ~Enishi~ (sequel)
    Shuffle!

The less serious, more comedy focused series:
    Seto no Hanayome
    Ouran High School Host Club
    Midori no Hibi
Futakoi (or Futakoi Alternative, which is more focused, but one strange series)
    Final Approach
    Rizelmine
    Karin
    Mahoraba ~Heartful Days~
Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru (Otoboku)
    Tsukiyomi Moonphase
Okusama wa Joshi Kousei (bad, but I list it anyway)

I'm done with hunter x hunter, it was awesome Any idea when the rest of the manga is gonna get to anime?

K this one was quite good, got anything else like this? Is Shaman King like HxH ? It would help if it was relatively new but if it's not that's ok too.

Watched the 3 sets of OVAs for HxH right? We don't know when the rest of the manga will be animated. Speculation is that it will be when the current arc finishes, but the arc is slowly progressing mainly because of the health of the author.

I liked Shaman King, it was alright...

Plenty exist, but the level of horror is debatable:

    Jigoku Shoujo
    Jigoku Shoujo Futakamori
    Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai
Pumpkin Scissors (not strictly a horror, but has many horror elements)
    School Days
Hellsing Ultimate (or the inferior Hellsing TV anime from 2001)
    Alien 9 (deceptively so)
    Ergo Proxy
    Elfen Lied
    Gungrave (latter half)
    Ghost Hunt
    Kite Liberator
    Le Chevalier D`Eon
    Monster
    Perfect Blue

EDIT: mentioned Ghost Hunt twice, heh.

I'm honestly not sure if you can consider Ergo Proxy a horror.

And lol @ School Days, =P

There's also 100 Stories (Kousetsu Hyaku Monogatari). It was a pretty nice horror series.

Not exactly horror but if you're looking for complex plot and difficult characters you should try Death Note

I second Suzuka. Watch the anime, then read the manga. Because after watching the anime, you sort of get an idea when the songs are suppose to play and how the character's sound like in your head. Which makes it better. At least imo.

looking for anime name and recommendation.

My friend has started watching this anime, but since she ain't a big anime-fan (thank goodness for that), she doesn't exactly know what's it's called and how to pronounce it.
anyways, she says that the anime has two girls (one uber rich with black hair, second cute with blond hair) that are going through a girl-X-girl pace, and then all of a sudden, hell breaks loose and some monster robots are unleashed upon earth.
at which time some godly woman casts a divine spell and turns the blond girl into the embodient of good and creation, and the rich girl into the barrer of all evil powers in the universe.
then, of course, there's this guy who loves this girl, but is also a giant hellish robot destined to kill her, and the girl (one of them, not sure which) moves in with the other girl (who is, as far as I understood, the anti-christ of her).

that's all I could get from her, does it strike anyone as familiar? she said that it's call mayuri (or Miyuki?), as both of the girls go by that name.

Heavy implications of yuri, one black haired, one blond, and mecha?

It can only be Kannazuki no Miko

But that kind of plot device (one girl embodies evil, one heaven) is pretty common in shoujo series, believe it or not, so it might be something else.

I don't know for sure, I could never get into Kannazuki no Miko.

Everything, except for Chikane, some parts of the plot and the ending, sucks for Kannazuki no Miko, but I still love it nonetheless. One of the best endings IMO.

Lately I've been racking my brain for something to watch. To be honest, I don't want to have a type of genre in mind, but I just want to watch something good. The current season's anime besides Macross/Geass/Toshokan Sensou and Soul Eater have been dismal.

Just watched Starship Troopers/Mars Daybreak, and they were good time wasters for a bit, but nothing that really compelled me as say when I started watching HxH. So yeah, to keep it short I just I'm looking for anime that I might've overlooked that is just flat out good, since I do have a sized library of what I've watched already. I know that sounds vague but I'm in a slump and need help!
