    Blue Drop: Tenshi-tachi no Gikyoku

    First episode by Genjo:
    http://a.scarywater.net/genjo-subs/%...5D.mkv.torrent

In 1995, all 800 habitants of the isolated Kamikakushi Island vanished in one night, all but a single girl who lost her memory. The cause of the disappearances was never identified.

Four years later, that girl, Mari, transfers to a girl's dormitory school, Kaihou Gakuen, leaving behind her grandmother who had been her guardian ever since the incident. There, she meets Hagino.

Hagino is the school idol and completes her student council responsibilities flawlessly. The moment she touches Mari’s hand, however, Hagino freaks out, straddling atop Mari, hands aroundher throat. Mari is afraid of and angry at Hagino, who pretends as if nothing had happened while in front of other students, but at the same time, somehow, she is attracted to Hagino too.

In reality, Hagino is actually an alien who was sent to Earth in order to reconnoiter prior to an invasion. The event on Kamikakushi Island occurred when the 200-member crew of a battleship, the Blue, whose captain was Hagino and the island's inhabitants had killed each other. The Blue was seriously damaged and hidden. Hagino had since blended into human society and continued her reconnaissance.

Within her school life, while fighting with fellow students, Mari begins to come out of her shell. Hagino has been living a double life, but her encounter with Mari makes her face human beings, and gradually she begins to have doubts about her mission. While the invasion and war draws closer unnoticed, the girls begin to understand each other.

yuri vibes all about the place in this one. Seems to be a serious sci-fi romance. The characters are quite believable, if not a little stilted towards certain stereotypes (the shy girl, the antisocial protagonist, the mysterious one).

I have never seen a fatter chick in anime than the head of the dormitory. Holy freaking shit! Also, what is Lucrezia Noin doing cooking at an all girl's prep school? (that seems like a cool character too though)

This show holds a serious tone, and as long as it doesn't turn into a snooze fest in later episodes, holds a great deal of promise. The alien thing is pretty well done; and the moment at 15:10 is freaking awesome. I actually like the characters too...

Just from looking at the genres, "shoujo-ai" "school based" "non action sci-fi", I did not think this show would be to my liking at all, but I'm interested enough to want to see the next episode.

Humans are different from animals. We must die for a reason. Now is the time for us to regulate ourselves and reclaim our dignity. The one who holds endless potential and displays his strength and kindness to the world. Only mankind has God, a power that allows us to go above and beyond what we are now, a God that we call "possibility".

Genjo Subs - Blue Drop - Episode 02

i usually can't stand yuri shows
    or shows set in schools

but this show is awesome! episode 2 was excellent, and i'm intrigued to learn about the plot and everything. the yuri is actually pretty well done too. it's sorta angsty, sorta spooky, and yet still something sweet about it. The character variety is also to my liking.

this is my 'pleasant surprise' of fall 07 so far

The manga is pretty heavy on yuri. I think I read a few of the scanlations, they were a compilatoins of one-shots or something. Some of them had a lot of smut, ie nudity, sex, but no explicit showing of genitals (similiar to what Futari Ecchi does).
