I watched earlier the Yuurisan-Mochi version and I've to say not a whole lot happened in it. These feel like fillers if anything.

They basically are aren't they? I mean, they don't seem to even have a place in the original's timeline
It's cute though. I can always do with some more ponytail Shana.
This episode reminded me that I liked the skull guy from the flying fortress, but I can't remember much else about him other than dying with some Rainbow Sword technique and being someone who one-sidedly loved the first Flame Haired Hunter.
I think the love-square went something like Whilhelmina -> Raindbow Sword -> Flame Hunter -> Alastor.
edit: oh... that's who the 5th guy was.
If it's not Isuzu-chan Mii~
I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the "S" OVAs were all going to be filler, and would lead up to a 3rd season of the TV series (which, I assume, will take off from the climax of the 2nd season).
It's dangerous to go alone. Take Nep.
I always knew that the S OVAs were for the "further developing of character relationships" or something along those lines, but I never bothered to find out whether this was filler, stuff in cannon, or simply little tidbits that were previously omitted in favour of theplotfirst series' plot.

These S eps might be disappointing in their fillerishness but Shanatan never lets you down:
Shakugan no Shanatan Dos - YuS-Mochi
If it's not Isuzu-chan Mii~
It's funny how i look forward to the shana-tan episodes while not caring about the actual OVAs anymore
Lol, did they give up on the actual OVAs?

Apparently a big announcement is due next month, maybe season 3?
Indeed. This is why Railgun S2 or Index S3 don't have a clear future yet.
It's cool. Let's hope the pacing (and sheer writing) is better than in the second season, which had that dreadfully trudging period of nothing at all happening.
