Actually i think his hair looks pretty good. Your suggestions would be cool too saph but spiky hair is goku's trademark so it wouldn't make much sense to chnge that. I really do hope this movie does well.
I was trying to demonstrate the difference between using mousse + straightener, from using gel and perhaps a little more effort. That hair can clearly be spiked 'up' hence the word 'uppity'

The hair just won me over since it shows that they are at least attempting to take some ridiculousness from the anime.
At this point i already plan to walk into the theater with the lowest expectation possible so i might get pleasantly surprised or just not completely disgusted with it.
we'll probably see a Kamehameha but it won't be the ridiculously huge ones from DBZ, at best we'll see some smaller version that young goku used during the world tournaments.

It's a shame these characters look nothing like their anime/manga counterparts.
Chow Yun Fat isn't nearly old enough and lacks glasses.
For the curious, the kanji on Goku's shirt is 運, meaning fate or destiny.

I weep for Goku's hair, there was really no way they could have pulled of the proper look so I was hoping they'd just ignore it and give him normal person hair, oh well.
Jaime's pic as Chi Chi look nothing like what I'd expect and based on her real personality I don't know how she's going to pull of what I was hoping would be a good tsundere performance. At least from the comments it seems she'll have fighting ability.
I had to shake my head at that comparison too. At least he tried to feign some geek culture knowledge, but he still fails miserably.
I've woken up with Goku-looking hair plenty of times, without the help of styling products. I can't imagine it'd be that hard to style the actor's hair correctly to resemble our hero, if they really wanted to.
Oh, and in case anyone didn't notice, the producers "keeping the hair color from the anime" resulted in those two blue extensions in Emmy Rossum's hair. Excellent work.
