    Lightbulb Mononoke TV

In the vein of 'classical horror' anime, this is NOT Princess Mononoke, not by a long shot...

It's like Mushishi meets Hundred Stories, but animated by blotter-acid fueled nutjobs.

Features an art style that is weird and gets some getting used to, but it really fits with the creepy-deaky supernatural horror, like a bad acid trip. The art style sorta turned me off at first, but about ten minutes into it I thought that it was really complimenting of the genre and, actually, think it's better this way. It really adds something creepy to the feel...

The lack of animation is more than made up for by the excellent sound work, notably the special effects. Some excellent voice actors as well. Reminds me of the old days of horror films, where suspense is the key and not gore (in this case, sounds and unshown action, as opposed to fast/fluid animation).

    Shinsen is doing it.

I'm all up on this one.

Humans are different from animals. We must die for a reason. Now is the time for us to regulate ourselves and reclaim our dignity. The one who holds endless potential and displays his strength and kindness to the world. Only mankind has God, a power that allows us to go above and beyond what we are now, a God that we call "possibility".

Yeah, I remember that short story from Ayakashi Japanese Classic Horror Show.
So they make an anime out of it.

we'll see what comes out of it then.

    From Shinsen subs page:

Shinsen are extremely proud to present Mononoke, a culmination of a great many staff members' work, as it happens. It is the sequel to the final arc of Ayakashi ~ Classic Japanese horror - Bake Neko - and those of you who watched that will no doubt have been looking forward to this as much as I have! (If you haven't seen it, please note it isn't essential viewing before this by any means.)

I suppose you would call it a supernatural thriller of sorts, following the mysterious Medicine Seller on his travels as he seeks to exorcise Mononoke (spirits) plaguing the guilty and innocent alike. The art style, the approach to dialogue and even the storyline are definitely a departure from the norm.

So, whether you're a fan of Bake Neko, or someone looking for an anime that's a bit different from the regular mainstream fare, or even just a little bit curious, give this a watch! I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Black-Sheep released, and this should be the version to watch and/or archive:
    http://tracker.minglong.org/torrents...MP3%5D.torrent

The torrent should also include a pdf note about the series and episode.

I have a very, very curious question to ask. How scary is this horror anime?
    Yes, I'm a coward

    <3 Tessa-chan! <3 Lucifus! ....chotto mate.

@ kenren: Not really that scary in my opinion. More of a creepy/weird.

    Also, Episode 3.
    And, Episode 3 HD.

edit: These are by Shinsen, btw.

anybody else still keeping up with this one? it's currently the break in my otherwise shounen overloaded anime diet right now...
