Thread: Naruto Shippuuden: The Movie

movie good. Very few slow parts, a surprising amount of humor, and I think the princess was HOT.

Someone put a lot of care into this one. The visuals were very dynamic during some skirmishes that made it seem more thrilling and intense, like when they had to defend themselves and fly through the trees at the same time.

    It's my favorite yet.

The fights not involving Naruto in this movie were great. And of course movie Lee fucking rocks as always.

When I saw that the main badguy was a multiheaded dragon made out of dark chakra, I was CERTAIN that there was gonna be kickass kyuubi action in this. Sorely disappointed.

In fact, I think thats the only awesome fight Naruto has ever had in any of the movies is when Halfway through the 3rd movie he goes all fox for about 15 seconds and beats the shit out of some guys.

That said, Shion, total P.I.L.F. Scene after the credits was a riot.

And I will say also, that DB's timing of this release was perfect, coming out just AFTER the episode that describes how elemental chakras work. Thus, keeping us from being spoiled by the movie.

Overall, like was said, this movie is exactly the same as the others. Right down to the final battle not being nearly as cool as the ones the supporting characters have. And ending with another one-time new Rasengan.

Everyone talks about the rainbow Rasengan, but don't forget MOON Rasengan people!

I dare say that this movie was terrible. Possibly the worst of the four. Well, what I saw of it anyway. Two friends randomly came by, and after a big meal of tacos, three eps of Code Geass 1, and a fake ass DiamondDust Rebellion, we scoured my hard drive in search of something interesting. Why not Shippuden?

Usually my friend hides the fact that she's not paying attention by texting or something, but after about 30 seconds of the movie she was out cold on the mattress. I continued to make fun of the disturbing possession scenes, the use of arrows on STONE FIGURES, and the pig before I decided to 'rest my eyes and listen to the words' after about 4 minutes. For the next hour I randomly woke up to look at the screen and make fun of whatever was happening and fall prompty asleep again to appear I wasn't truly asleep. But I think I snore so I didn't really convince anyone. After that, there was still thirty minutes left of the movie, so we decided to simply fast forward through the rest of that. The day ended with my second friend, who had stayed up for the entire movie saying, "Why don't they just nuke em?" and friend who fell asleep with me saying, "After Bleach.. Naruto is just.. ..."

LAME!!! all movies the same thing. Protect a jackass. Fight the leader of the enemy. Use Rasengan. That's it. Oh and to make it different, use different name for each Rasengan. Done!!!

Kishimoto is probably going to make the next 5 Naruto Movies with 5 different names for finishing Rasengan. ALL movies will be the same thing ---> "Protecting someone who is a jerk in the beginning and a Naruto Lover in the end".

And most movies will have Rock Lee in it.

Ehh, I thought the movie was pretty good. It had ALOT of good fights. I don't think the movie went more than like 15 minutes without there being a fight in it. The story was decent. To me, its the best one. To say its worse than #2, which had ZERO good fights, a boring story and lame comedy (basically its 0-3 on everything that makes Naruto enjoyable) is almost like trolling.

I'd still like to know what Naruto episodes or movies are people comparing it to when they say this movie is bad. Where is this mysterious Oscar-quality Naruto content that everyone has seen? LOL @ people saying the plot is similar but not complaining that on the show/manga, every bad guy is some disturbed young child and is basically doing everything because of their loner/loser childhood. Naruto, Neji, Itachi, Sasuke, Gaara, Haku, Orochimaru, Sasori... thats all of them in a nutshell. "I was a lonely kid, so now i'm a mass murderer, psycho or jerk." If you don't like repeated themes you don't like Naruto because it DOES THAT FOR EVERYTHING!!!

    News flash.
Kishimoto does not write the movies.

I know right, I had to explain that to someone else recently. Kishi is a mangaka, the only thing he does is manga, the anime and or movies have nothing to do with him. Yet they blame him for everything.

If your going to blame anyone blame studio pierrot. There the company that produces both the Anime as well as the movies (they also do bleach as well).

Anything wrong with shippuuden and or the films is usually their doing.

Watched like 75% of this. Like all the other movies it's not great. Not by a long shot but it's decent. I'd say it's probably the second best (behind the second movie which played with a lot of fun ideas). It as amusing and mostly tolerable humor was decent.

And I loved how Guy sensai tricked rock lee into getting drunk by giving him a chcolate bon bon (although drunken 5th gate rock lee deserved more screen time).

Rule of thumb about anime is that the spin-off movies of any long running series are usually crap (especially seeing how studio pierrot chucks these babies out at the rate of one per year).but hey at least they included a reference to the elmental affinity.

Well here's hoping things pick up when the filler arc is over and the zoro voiced guy proves to be a good filler villain (or at least better then the others).

Also had the best ending of all the naruto movies seeing how at the sequence after the credits he gets laid.

I can assure you he doesn't. Everything else aside the main problem I have with these movies is how they pass up on every opportunity there could be for great fights. The reason I started reading Naruto was because I wanted to see great fights, fights like Kakashi vs Zabuza, Neji vs Naruto, Sarutobi vs Orochimaru. I didn't start watching it to see people fighting monsters or worse yet monsters fighting monsters.

Why can't it just be two villages going to war or something and why do all of the antagonists have to have some super power or plot device either chakra armor, magic stones, or in the case of the third movie chakra armor that turns people to stone. This one had body possessing demons and priestesses with special powers I know the movies have been going further and further away from what the actual appeal of Naruto is but when exactly did this turn into Inuyasha. Seriously if they stick to the basics and hire a writer, hell he doesn't even have to be a good writer anyone who doesn't reuse the same script would do, then these movies would actually be worth watching.

See your point about the whole ninja's fighting monsters deal. Which is kind of dumb. On that note I don't know if anybody else noticed, but did anyone hear the claymore yoki powering up tie fighter sound effect occur when the rock monster guy that rock lee fought powered up?

Just watched it, at least the fight scenes were neat, always love to see Lee in action. I suppose I had low expectations so I wasn't disappointed, I dunno why anyone would go into this with anything else.

Is this a bad joke? "I didn't watch the movie, it sucked" Haha

Do I really need to watch an entire movie to determine it was terrible? If it's bad enough to put me to sleep in 5 minutes flat it gets a bad rating. It had plenty of chances to redeem itself while I randomly woke up. Haha.

    Ironic.

I didn't tell you I liked the movie, in fact I said the opposite. I hope you can get past my insults and see why your synopsis might be invalid or even simply biased.

  14. #74
Hrm. I never gave you a synopsis. I just said the movie sucked so much that I actually fell asleep. I never said anything about what you think either. Again, do I really need to force myself to stay awake during an entire movie to determine it's terrible? I watched the first 15-30 minutes, and then skimmed through the end trying to find something interesting. That's enough for me.

Saying it sucks is a synopsis. Calling me butthurt implies I thought it didn't suck, if I didn't have an opposing view there would be nothing nothing to be butthurt about.

And yes having an opinion on something should involve an experience to give you that opinion, not what your friends said/thought. Enough OT argument though. Up up and away!

  16. #76
(Let's stop the discussion of synopsis, just go get a dictionary) Saying I have to watch an entire thing to have an opinion on it is merely ridiculous. That reminds me of when some guy on the internet told me I have to know the word for something to truly understand what it is. I don't have to take a whole year of Calculus to understand that I suck at it, I don't have to run fifteen miles to understand that tiring and I'd faint, and I don't have to see an entire movie to see that it sucks. Especially if it is so gay that I actually fall asleep through most of it. I too will fall off discussing this, since you seem to be unable to process these simple ideas. Oh and I called you butthurt because you're getting all snippy for someone giving their opinion. Perhaps you should look at the link again because the first five definitions don't say anything about joking/opposing viewpoints at all? At least look at the second one if you really need that much babying.

the movie could have been amazing, its just that you thought from the very beginning ( because you heard/read some rumors or so) "the movie will suck anyways, so i'll give it a bad rating without even watching it"

the first 5 minutes were actually very promising...

    - naruto = dead
    - some pretty cool ninjas
    - nice ninjutsu
    - disguisting medical ninja who rips himself open

it actually had everything a naruto-fan wants...

    to the whole movie:
the only boring part of this movie was actually the stone army (at the beginning and in the middle of the movie, the last scene with it was actually *ok*) and that it lacked a nice kyuubi fight

the last thing is really annoying... because finally naruto is able to control it at least a bit (up to a few tails) and they don't use it in a movie...thats just wasted potential

Actually I went into the movie thinking it would be awesome. I was planning on watching it again with a different set of friends. I was inputing the opinions of my friends to show their opinions on it too, not that I was influenced by them lol. It was boring/stupid as hell for me from the very beginning, but I stuck with it until I fell asleep. Movies aren't that long, so if it sucks from the first 15-30 minutes to the last 30-45 minutes, will the middle really sway my opinion? And I was awake for portions of that and it still sucked (in my opinion, JEEZ). I really don't think my opinion will change, but if you people want I will sit through the entire thing with 5 cups of coffee if you think my opinion needs to be 'valid'.

Do you fall asleep whenever you watch Naruto? because the movie was clearly better than the last ~30 episodes... or even better than like 90% of the whole series.

There was absolutely no reason to fall asleep because it was boring... None at all not even the story was "boring" it was the most common story ever.. nearly 50%of the movies, may it be life-action/animated/*insert random movies here* have the same kind of story.
you are just overreacting because it wasn't "super special awesome! "

neither the animation was bad nor were the fights..
It wasn't a very good movie either... it was a regular 08/15 movie. (edit: ehh... is the phrase "08/15" actually used outside of germany? well if not, it simply means that its nothing special and that we've seen something like that many times before just slightly different, but it doens't mean that its bad because of that)

btw you should never go into the cinema or watch a movie excepting something really *AWESOME*
many people actually did the same with the movie "300".. and expected a super-great story behind everything... but I who knew a bit about the comic etc. was excepting really great animation and especially slaughter, because slaughter was nearly everything the comic had.
The same goes with a Naruto movie... all there is in a Naruto movie are some good fights. Too bad they don't focus on it more.

Okay KrayZ I know you're getting all worked up over this but don't go overboard okay. The only thing thats wrong with the anime is that the episodes have been unnecessarily stretched out and even those that weren't being stretched were watered down with filler content and no way was this movie better than the first half of the series. Thats just ridiculous.

I'll say it just for the sake of saying it but that is exactly what I thought when I read her post but I just chocked it up to the randomness that is Sapphire <3, no biggie really. Anyway we're here to talk about how bad the movie was so instead of bothering Sapphire let's mess with KrayZ because he seems to be under the impression that the movie was good, he even went so far as to say that this one movie was better than 90% of the entire series, so if anyone needs a sound talking to, its him.
