So you CAN put h264 into an avi? Why the heck does anyone make hard-subbed mkvs then?

There have been a few groups that used h264 in avi earlier, when h264 was just gaining more popularity. Back then there were always people who complained their players or player - splitter combinations weren't able to handle it. I doubt such problems exist anymore (except for those who only ever watched Naruto and Bleach and stuck to Windows Media Player or some pesky stand-alone players).

Avi is an old and limited container, and just like groups moved to the new h264 encoding they mostly moved to new containers as well. It makes sense even if they decided not to use mkv's (or mp4's) better features.

The DB download was indeed the movie... which IMO turned out to be rather horrible. I'm not sure even kids could enjoy it. It drops and cuts story at very sharp turns and the storyline isn't even up to par with the last ones.

Although, the *cough* adult innuendo at the end did make me laugh... Hentai fans may be pleased at the prospect, and fanfics will spring wild.

All I want to see in the naruto-movies are good animated fighting scenes... the stories were always like fillers to me so it won't be a problem as long as it has good scenes...

Hmmm how to put this... You really don't even get that in this movie. You get to see a few new element techniques but other than that there's just a few blips of Lee strutting his stuff and the usual Rasengan sequence. The rest is mostly Naruto pep talk.

The ending track IMO stunk too.

Really, the only part worth watching is the very tail end that'll make ya giggle like a schoolkid.

Good luck. I stayed up an extra few hours in good hope. As I usually do with the episodes... And as usual...

Just tell myself at the end that Bleach will cheer me up.

Oh, I'm totally making Lee's face at the end my avatar... :-D

The very end scene was certainly the best part of this disjointed movie. The fight against the demon was so miserable you couldn't do anything but laugh at it. Well, at least it had a rasengan that was even funnier than the one in the third movie. Oh, wait, that isn't a good thing. You would think when they make a Naruto movie they would have at least one epic battle in it, but this had none. No fight where a Konoha ninja would have needed to go all out in a believable manner.

I aggree the last scene was the best!!
The fight scene's were just'.... exept the fight of Rock Lee that fight made me little bit glad.
The fight with the dragon was just insipid.
The ''Ultra Rasengan'' was just a noob shit name and the rasengan itself was just ''Hell No''
And the Priestess was just SHIT but she was hot

Oh god that was so lame. Ultra-Chakra Rasengan! These movie writers need to stop doing this shit. Seven color Rasengan, Rainbow Rasengan or whatever those stupid named Rasengans were used in the previous movies.

In the next movie, they should add all his Rasengan into one.
That would make it into The Ultimare Seven Coloured Rainbow Oodama Rasengan.

AND THEN HE THROWS THE SHIT...

Anyway, as posted befoe me, the very obvious best part was at the end of the movie.
What I don't get is why they don't just focus on pure eyecandy. Flashy enviroments, flashy fights, flashy villian design, what not. You think that, in the current day, they would pop something better out of their asses....
Seriously, even the upcomming Naruto Fillers just seems more appealing..

Instead of watching this movie, go outside and read a book...or something...

Did we actually watch the same movie? I liked it more than any other Naruto movie out there.. and it wasn't as actionless as everyone says here...

It was really by FAR the best naruto movie , the story wasn't that bad either, I simply disagree...

Ya the last Rasengan was a bit crappy because we've seen it 3 times alrdy etc etc. but still it looked somehow awesome. The villains weren't that bad and all in all it was a good movie

    btw @ ending scene

I wonder why you guys even bother watching the anime or reading the manga, if you didn't even like this movie. You guys should stop, really.

the only thing which was a bit disappointed was the end fight against the demon... I accepted it to be the longest and most amazing fight.
The movie had a really good start, but a rather weak ending.

I still like most the first movie. It was a better combination of a reasonable down to earth mentality and still interesting enough enemies and plots. And it didn't have a rainbow rasengan. And it didn't have an unstoppable army marching at an amazing speed of 100 meters per hour...

And, KrayZ33, everybody is allowed to enjoy these movies and series the way they want, even if it's by finding flaws in them. So, talk about the movie, not other posters here.

So you want me to tell that its ok to keep watching the anime and enjoy it only because you can annoy me by saying how bad it is? (even though it isn't) It just feels like everyone complains about the movie because the series isn't that great at the moment (or the last year *g*). So many prejudices...
There is no reason to hate this movie if you liked the first 2, especially the first one because the story is very similiar. (if not nearly the same)

btw the first naruto movie had THE rainbow rasengan... but thats another story.

    lets see... first movie:

    princess
soldiers who die for her princess
    necklace
someone who wants to gain power and take over the world
naruto saying something like "its not over now" -> rainbow rasengan because of the necklace
princess is sad because everyone dies for her, but she doesn't want it
    naruto = princess' savior

    fourth movie:

    priestress
soldiers who die for her priestress
    bell
someone who consumed power of the demon, the demon wants to take over the world
naruto saying that he can change everything -> ultra rasengan because of the bell
priestress is sad because everyone dies for her, but she doesn't want it.
    naruto = priestress' savior

but i have to agree, naruto's enemies were better in the first movie.
thats why i said i was disappointed at the fight against the demon, because it ended to quicky etc.

don't get me wrong, I'm fine if not everyone likes this movie, but the reasons given were just weak in my opinion, It's not like I can't accept it when somebody doesn't like the movie but why? there wasn't much difference between the fourth movie and the other 3.

The first movie already had the rainbow rasengan? Damn. I didn't remember that. It has been too long (I haven't been in any hurry to rewatch Naruto movies). Well, despite that I still think it was the most balanced out of them all. And it hold together a lot better than this and had better dynamics, and no details that would have irritated me really bad or make me laugh in desperation like the demon fight in this one.

I don't need you to say anything. Why would I care? What I said before I said in the form of a mod trying to keep the conversation centered around the movie, not around the people who watch the movie.

And if you want to see how a series related movie/ova should be made, have a look at the Samurai X: Trust & Betrayal, for example. You won't see me complaining after I watch it.

well i just watched it. i thot it was great. you guys just like to complain.

I agree with KrayZ in that you can't say that you didn't like this movie yet you liked the others because they are pretty much all the same. With that said I think that all of the movies have been bad this one and the first one included.

Anyway you can't simply say that you can't see how someone who watches the anime or reads the manga wouldn't like the movies because all three are different besides everyone is entitled to their opinion. Anyway KrayZ at this point I'm beginning to think that you would watch anything that has Naruto in it and like it?

@ Redcat as far as Naruto movies go it was okay but as Kraco pointed out as far as anime movies/ovas go it wasn't. Its just that the movies have established low standards for themselves so I go into them expecting nothing more than I would expect from a filler episode.

*Facepalm at Naruto's very last sentence in the movie*

At least Gai/Kakashi/Sakura/Others? seems to have understood what Shion meant..
