    Game: White Knight Chronicles

The newest JRPG experience from Level 5 known as Shirokishi in Japan and previously known as White Knight Story here in the West. A new Japanese trailer is out and I dare say it looks absolutely splendid. So splendid that this game has gone from a must have to my most desired JRPG.

Have a look for yourselves and you'll see what I'm talking about. Beauty does have a name after all. It's White Knight Chronicles.
/ No, you warrant no villain's exposition from me.

Game looks nice plus you can transform into a bad ass beast or whatever.
No one but the enemy will ever teach you how to destroy and conquer. Only the enemy shows you where you are weak. Only the enemy tells you when he is strong. And the rules of the game are what you can do to him and what you can stop him from doing to you. I am your enemy from now on. From now on, I am your teacher."

I didn't like that they changed the art direction for this game at first, but watching the latest cinematic trailer really made me wonder why I even dared to doubt Level 5, this game is going to be really good.

I remember seeing the old trailer and the game looked very smooth, especially the battle animations. Going to check out the new trailer.

Power without perception is virtually useless!

    This game looks really good.

I also heard there was this thing called the eye-toy (is it a webcam for the ps3?). Well it scans your face and puts it into the char creation screen. Of course, they adjust it to fit the games graphics. That sounds really cool though.

Where did you read that? What I had read was that there was an edit mode to create a companion character (with no lines obviously)... and not that you could scan your face or anything.

I've been expecting this game ever since the first trailer came out (which DID include gaming scenes and not just video of cutscenes)

Screenshots I got from another forum this guy posted up. He says it's been confirmed you can scan your face with Sony's Eye Toy 2. Don't know where he got it from, but it seems to be true to me.

I'm relatively sure it's still just a rumor... but it wouldn't be too much of a stretch. What I have heard is that they have implemented an incredibly potent character creation tool similar to what The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion used. They have also confirmed that they have created all characters currently in the game using this tool. Yeah, I'm rather excited about creating my own character.

This isn't a MMO right? Just a single player RPG?

I wish some MMOs had features like Elder Scrolls IV did.

Been looking forward to this game. Probably the PS3's first Triple A or atleast Double A next-gen RPG. Too bad there isn't a US release date yet, though I'm 99% sure it's gonna hit our shores sooner or later. Won't expect it until atleast next year or early 2010.

It comes out in Japan on Christmas Day, so hopefully it won't take them til 2010 to translate and make whatever changes for the US.
