It can't be that bad. Have you seen the movie Ichi the Killer (aka Koroshiya 1)?

If you go watch Ichi the Killer, the name alone makes you expect violence. If you start watching School days, you think its a happy, romantic anime-show. Different expectations, you know.Originally Posted by Board of Command

But still... Even though I've already seen the censored version... watching Sekai covered in blood... with it dripping from her fingers and everything... it looked... wow...
Plus the real audio when Katsura cuts open Sekai is... simply... ouch... oh yeah... did I mention the 'camera-inside' Sekai looked even more shocking now with blood dripping??
and now for something completely different I don't even know what to say about this OAV.

Mahou Shoujo with School Day characters.
An official parody
sorry for bumping, but i just got a friend to watch the whole show in 2 days, and just now i watched the ending scene again myself.
I havent changed my mind and would reply the same as before in the thread, but watching the murder-scene again ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Ky7idFdWWI ) i think....well, one way to see it is that Itou´s simply in pain by being stabbed.
But imo, you can really see it in his facial expression after being stabbed, just HOW pure and innocent of a boy he actually was/is.
There´s no arguing that he was an "asshole in actions" from middle to end of the show. But this complete non-understanding he shows when being stabbed - as if that cannot be true, its unthinkable for him - reveals his true personality; which is pure, innocent, or to put it more negative, naive and dumb.
We talked about how Katsura was the number #1 victim in the show, being a typical romance-novel-influenced girl, then being messed with.
I think, Itou is exactly as much a victim...the difference being that he´s being pushed into a less victim-like position than Katsura.
But maybe it´s just the music in combination with someone getting killed that made me sad enough to post this .P
Anyway, this anime will always be remembered by me, really unique.
If you sympathize with him, maybe you can get to that viewpoint.
But even after rewatching it, I disagree. It's not naivette, and certainly not innocence, that causes him to get that expression as she stabs him. It's arrogance and hubris only. He believed that he was the master player right before that point in the series. Though he had just recently lost them due to Sekai declaring herself impregnated, he had been having foursomes, all the girls wanted to give him a try, but even after they had abandoned him, he could still get Katsura.
Itou believed that she, and probably Sekai, would always be in the palm of his hand. They were just that much devoted to him. No matter what girls he had sex with, no matter how badly he treated those two, they'd be his fall back hos. He never for one single moment thought that Sekai would betray him.
It's not innocence. It is arrogance.
I would add surprise and shock to what Ryl said. As Ryl pointed out, Itou NEVER expected Sekai to do that to him. Bastard deserved it.
I wonder what happened post-series. Its obvious Sekai's body was to be found during a class day. Would the other girls try to seek Itou, to tell him, and find his headless body? Will people blame the crazy Katsura for both deaths despite only causing one? Would she be sent to prision? So many possibilities left to the imagination.
Overdone innocence can often appear as arrogance.
I would have to rewatch the whole series to be sure, but imo Itou was mislead by everyone around him, WHICH made him behave the way he did later on.
As far as i remember, not only did Sekai start her training, but every single girl in the series jumpend onto him despite knowning he´s in a relationship.
Again, the path between innocence and arrogance is slim, and i really think that in the moment of being stabbed, Itou was in complete disbelief. Not out of his own "arrogance", but because of everything that he knew that he didnt do anything so wrong to get "such" feedback.
@Ryouga: It wouldnt surprise me if the crazyness went on, like some other girl willingly taking the blame on her out of some crazy reason.
So i just finished watching this on Yuki's recommendation...
This was easily the most fucked up thing i ever saw and I'm counting all types of media, not just anime. A part of me died while watching this, i feel happiness has been ripped out from my very soul and i honestly believe I'm a worst person after this experience. Not only that, it featured the most unlikable character I've ever seen, i didn't think i could dislike a fictional creation to this degree.
That said, the last episode was fucking awesome, karma is a bitch. Cool watch, 8/10

so ive played the visual novel now. just wanted to say that ive been right all along :P
ive been playing a 100% Kotonoha-route, without straying from the path and doing something stupid, and ... well, the only person trying to mess things up is Sekai. Constantly trying to win over Makoto. Never telling her female friends that Makoto already has a girlfriend.
Sekai = the evil perpetrator in this story confirmed.
Eat this!!! :P
