Ah man no action yet. Doesn't seem like we'll see much next episode yet either. Most of it will probably cover Team Gai fighting those traps or whatever.
Oh com'on!! For chrissakes. So slow. Everything was so damn slow in this episode. The only thing, out of everything that happened in this episode, moving fast enough was the time as it counted up to 23mins and 4 secs. Don't get me wrong, if this had been an episode at the beginning of the arc then it would have been alright, BUT not at this time.
There was no need for Naruto to be shaking Neji while he was Byakuganing. That was just irritating and if I had been Neji, I would have given him a 32 (only 32 not 64) chakra point hit for being annoying.
I mean, here I am using byakugan to check things out, do not need to be distracted, idiot. That is what Neji should have said instead of just "let go"
And some unecessary questions/statements when they were discussing the barrier seals, since the answers were obvious
And the thing with Gai and the all hands in team cheer....too long and totally unnecessary for it to be that long. All 3 of them should have realized what he wanted once Lee put his hand in. There didnt need to be that long of a stare down from Gai, seeing how we all know how he is, just put your hands in there and get on with it. funny though the way Naruto's team turned him down flat; even if I were to die, no! :-)
Maybe I am just frustrated with the slow development of this episode. The stare down was a lil funny.
"After all, I am strangely colored"
My favorite part of the episode.
Akatsuki's leader is completely awesome. I wouldn't mind being able to summon and dismiss Mt. Rushmore whenever the mood struck me.
That's 18 episodes into Shippuuden and 18 manga chapters covered. On the other hand several Bleach chapters are often crammed into an episode resulting in more fillers. Can't anyone pace normally?

Akatsuki's leader seems to have lots of faith in Deidara and Sasori, despite the fact those two haven't had any rest for days, quite the contrary: They have been powering the statue for all the time after their journey and battle. Still, I doubt both of them are going to get killed, but Deidara might find an early grave in that cave, since he's already lost an arm and had to no doubt give much of his strength to bring down Gaara. Although, there would be absolutely no meaning for having the old geezer woman with them unless she's somehow instrumental in defeating Sasori. Could it be, after all, that Akatsuki will lose two members?
While it's of little meaning, but I got the impression Itachi was dismissing the possibility Sasori and Deidara could capture Naruto.
neji's "no f'n way look" was the higlight of the episode for me...
These were exactly my thoughts, paired with the fact that Itachi simply plays too great a part in the storyline, it's obvious who are supposed to get out of battle alive in the next upcoming episodes. Obvious also that I might be completely wrong here :POriginally Posted by Kraco
Well, it's what I think anyhow.
I think in pre-time it was 1.5 - 2 chapters per episode, now it's pretty much 1 chapter per episode... it's like Dragonball Z!!

The pacing is slow, but I don't mind it too much. What I don't like is geting these long gaps in between episodes, taking a week off here, another here...
They should have left Neji at the cave entrance to continue monitoring what was going on inside, maybe gain some more intel if he could... Truly, his 'no f'ing way am I putting my hand in' look was one of my favorite moments in the episode. I found that entire sequence to be rather amusing, especially Gai's grunting instead of words. It does worry me that they seem to put so much emphasis on the comedic scenes, neglecting others.
I like how despite Itachi's completely uncessarily vague description of Naruto, it works to identify him perfectly. What a static character... I got the impression that Itachi was bothered by the idea of Sasori and Deidara capturing his target, and that he and Kisame were now going towards there. Maybe I'm just hopeful... The segment at the end was pretty funny with Kisame.
Oh, and I really enjoyed everything with Sasori in this episode. When he was laughing at Itachi, and then Itachi's uncooperative attitude later on shows some of the dysfunctional nature of Akatsuki, which I'm glad we're seeing more of. I think he and Chiyo will both die, maybe Deidara escapes to tell the tale. I also liked when Deidara was complaining about how slow the Konoha nin were being, because I was thinking exactly the same thing. And then he must have been like, "Seriously, this is taking forever! I'm going to sit down, right here on this guy's corpse." That was badass, that he's just sitting on Gaara.
Next episode looks like it'll be one of those where they switch back and forth between fights, getting little done except maybe showing us Zetsu's traps and some preliminary battle conversation between Sasori and Chiyo and Naruto cursing at everyone.
Humans are different from animals. We must die for a reason. Now is the time for us to regulate ourselves and reclaim our dignity. The one who holds endless potential and displays his strength and kindness to the world. Only mankind has God, a power that allows us to go above and beyond what we are now, a God that we call "possibility".
I liked this episode.
Honestly, the Gai hand thing had me laughing my ass off. And the longer it went, the funnier it got for me. It was nice that they did a Gai joke that wasn't the same one they've been doing ahundred times. Lee on the mic was a riot to me also.
Also, now that Zero has unsummoned the statue with the Shukaku in it, I'm really not liking Gaara's chances of survival all of a sudden.
I don't really mind the slow pacing, but the way they slow it down is a bit annoying at times. Like the Gai scene. Normally i probably would have found it hilarious, but it was at such a crazily in appropriate time. I mean they're right outside the enemies door, they know Gaara's time is limited and every second probably counts, and yet he sits there for like a full minute grunting like he needs to take a dump. It just killed the sense of urgency to me. The scene with Naruto right after it was hilarious though.
It looks like they're really going to off Garaa now. I didn't think they'd do it, but now that there is seemingly no chance of them retrieving Shukakku i really don't see how they could possibly explain saving him. I'm looking forward to watching Chyo fight Sasori, so hopefully they get to the meat of that scene soon. All in all it was a good episode and built up some good drama for the up coming eps. Hopefully we'll see Naruto release some Kyubi fury.
Yeah, I thought maybe Naruto would have better control over the Kyuubi after 3 years but if any thing he seems like he has less. He seems to grow fox features now whenever he gets the slightest bit upset.
Well, that could be more control, you know. In the past he could only use the Kyuubi powers when he's life was in a real danger after much beating or otherwise in a highly emotional state. Now it looks like he can use it whenever he wants. The only thing I would hope for is that it actually still makes a difference. In the past he became like another person when using that chakra.
Yeah, but that other person has always been WAY cooler than regular Naruto, who begs for kicks in face.
First time I liked the ending part. Not that bad an episode, got to see some akatsuki and that's good. And it does seems like Itachi is going after Naruto. Maybe it will be Itachi who'll save the day and rescue Naruto from the akatsuki...
