Well, there's still no official release date for this game in Australia, but apparently it will be at least May/June before it gets here. Sucks to be me!

I was just playing Brawl at a friend's house last night and it was awesome. Time flew by so fast and before you know it, it was midnight.
Little bit of info but it seems gamestop/ebgames will be doing a tournament for the game on this upcoming saturday. It will apparently be happening everywhere, so I suggest you call your local store and find out if they'll be doing it.
Winner gets $5000, plasma tv and a wi with games and shit.
R.I.P Captain America.
Interesting....but obviously all the prizes will go to the people who started playing the japanese version a month ago.Originally Posted by Knives122

Hahahahhaaha, that was great.
Someone brought the brawl port over to school yesterday. I ended up skipping my two classes and playing all day. The smash ball really changes everything about the game.
BTW, Lucus' final smash is broken, and Ike is just broken in general.
For all you awesome people, it's just Phoenix. The numbers are just the amount of times people misspell it.
Today's the day.
Let's go, gentlemen...
<@Terra> he told me this, "man actually meeting terra is so fucking big", and he started crying. Then he bought me hot dogs
Picked mine up midnight Sunday morning (before the DST change) and played it for a solid twelve hours today. Got plenty more of unlocking to do, but I'm extremely pleased with the results.
- Added some real power to Zelda, now it more than makes up for her somewhat pokey speed, and Sheik got a good rounding too. I don't remember her being able to cling to walls Ninja Gaiden style in Melee, but it's certainly welcome here.
- Zero Suit Samus is a nice mix of Sheik and with a little bit of Zelda. Really floaty at times, zips around at others, and some nice range on her side and up smashes. Should be a good mix for me.
- Olimar eludes me. I can't figure out exactly how he works.
- Metaknight is SICK. Not my type, but I know plenty of people who will find him right up their alley.
I'm sure plenty of people have said it, but Final Smashes really do change the entire mechanics of a brawl. The camera even focuses right on it, and then everyone makes a mad dash towards it and things get really nasty. That, and there's tons of other things to do, and Subspace Emissary adds even more to an already full and practically flawless game.
33% of subspace beaten so far....

Fuck I have to wait until Wednesday to get it and Friday to play it.....I feel dead inside
My mind is mentally fucked from the great game.
I'm planning to unlock every last damn thing for this game tonight! On second thought, that might be impossible with the given time frame..

I got the game at the midnight release. Unlocked Sonic after about 8-9 hours and then passed out. Just woke up so it's time to go play some more.
I am liking Ike a lot, his side smashes are totally broken because of the ridiculous range on them and his Final Smash is eye candy.
I have very few complaints with the game because it's pretty well rounded. I'm just annoy that they remove characters like Roy and Mewtwo but then go and add Lucario and Star Wolf. Wolf is pretty much the same as fox, hell one of fox costume looks exactly like wolf and Lucario is just mewtwo with two different moves so i don't see why they couldn't include all of the old characters since they are really just adding newer clones.
Ganon still doesn't have his own set of moves since they all still work exactly the same as cap falcon.
here's my friend code:

R.I.P Captain America.
Oh man I love Lucas so much he might become my new main. The way he plays reminds me of Pikachu from the fist game.
Also I love that Sheik has been given more lag time in between her moves.
This is so great.

zero-suit samus is hot. Her abilities aren't too bad either.
unlocked marth, falcon, falco, and lucario
47% of the emissary complete.
105 trophies
104 stickers
Supposedly there's over 500 trophies to collect? The subspace emissary ones will take forever.....even finding a base is annoying enough, but holding on to it until you find an enemy you want and then successfully catching the enemy is even worse. I think I've failed in most of my attempts so far...
Anyway, I'm done for the night.

glad you guys are enjoying it, lawl ;o

well, i haven't done much reading up on Brawl, but I went to play it at a friend's house yesterday, and I was really pretty disappointed in something that you all who have been fervently following it are probably going to say, "What's the big deal about?"
The buttons and control stick are the only inputs? Fucking weak.
The game plays well and all, and it looks nicer and even the loading speeds are surprisingly good for a supposedly "fully loaded disc".
But I can't help but think something is wrong when I play this game and think to myself, "I wish I was playing Rampage..."
One step forward, two steps back.
It's Melee, but with Supers, a few tweaks to some old characters, a few fun new ones (I enjoy Wario and Meta Knight to an unhealthy degree), new stages, a few new items (the Smash ball and those rockets being great ones), and better graphics and a more indepth, movie heavy "campaign" mode. Oh, and some more flexibility with the rules.
I'm very much reminded of Halo 3, where there was a huge fan base and a great wave of anxiousness leading up to the launch date. Tons of fanboyist legions led the dimwitted round of applause that met it. But it was really just Halo 2 with a few new bells and whistles and looking nicer on your screen.
Sure, they made it better. It's hard to fuck up something as fun as Smash, and with the time they've had, what they've brought us is, in my eyes, the bare bones minimum they could have done to re-sell a re-named version of Melee 2.0.
I'm not saying it's not fun, because it's tons of fun. It's still a good game. It doesn't meet my expectations though, because apparently the developers couldn't even get their hands on a Wii to know what system they were making it for. It's not a Wii game. It's a Gamecube game packaged to be played on the Wii.
Or maybe I'm getting all upset over nothing because there's a setting we've yet to unlock that lets you use the Wii's motion sensors for input?
Humans are different from animals. We must die for a reason. Now is the time for us to regulate ourselves and reclaim our dignity. The one who holds endless potential and displays his strength and kindness to the world. Only mankind has God, a power that allows us to go above and beyond what we are now, a God that we call "possibility".
