    North Korea conducts nuclear test

...which ultimately led to the following:

"Shares on the South Korean stock market drop 4% following news from North".

I foresee a downturn reaction in the Dow Jones on Monday (tomorrow)...

You'd think North Korea's biggest problems would lie in feeding its starving and impoverished population, not in nuclear technology...

What, you mean the "ruling class" giving a fuck about the people of it's nation except to the extent that said people is useful to it's agenda? Nah. They can starve for all N. Korea's politicians care. Or anywhere for that matter.

What's so hard about finding a ninja? Surely the town is not teeming with people only showing their eyes, covering the rest of their body...

Oil is Plentiful, Demands Weak, Why Are Gas Prices Going Up?

Storage tankers across the globe may be brimming with oil that no one is buying because of the global economic downturn, but the traditional laws of supply and demand don't always apply to oil prices. Drivers have faced rising prices at the gas pump in recent months, as investors and oil-producing countries hoard supplies in anticipation of a global economic recovery later this year.
I was wondering why the oil prices were going up and now I know. They were like $1.47 a few months ago, and continued to rise ever since. I guess we'll have to wait a few years for the oil prices to either diminish or peak itself.

I don't know whether I like that move right now. Cheaper petrol would help us in general, but I'd also like the prices to stay high as an incentive to drive research into alternative energy sources, getting us off the stranglehold of high petrol.

Yeah. It doesn't look bad. Seems like they have been studying cell phones over at Sony to end up with a design like that.

wait, they're going to drop the analog sticks?

that's the best feature of the PSP

sig made by Itachi-y2k5, thanks, dude!
Currently Watching: probably a show directed at 9 years old girls, lets be honest.

You know the important distinction between Batman and me? Batman is fictional. In real life, there isn't always an alternative.

I thought the analog stick was right next to the movement controls, unless that's a different thing. Anyway, it looks cool.

Yep, that black dot/button between the D-pad and start/select buttons seems to be the left (and only) analogue stick to me. From the way the hand holds the PSP-GO, it doesn't look left-aligned enough to be comfortable. Hopefully they've put enough thought into the design so it's not so in practice.

Dropping the disc function and adopting the slider certainly allows for a bigger screen and lighter unit compared to its 3000 brother. Those who live in cities with abundant and cheap wifi connections would notice no loss of convenience at all.

    Otherwise, looking snazzy indeed.

Sweet, looks good. Great idea with the sliding screen, and it doesn't seem much thicker than the first-gen PSP.

Here's hoping they line up more developer support for games and apps.

For God will not permit that we shall know what is to come... those who by some sorcery or by some dream might come to pierce the veil that lies so darkly over all that is before them may serve by just that vision to cause that God should wrench the world from its heading and set it upon another course altogether and then where stands the sorcerer? Where the dreamer and his dream?

The screen is actually smaller (Psyke's link lists it at 3.8 instead of the 3000's 4.3), but the resolution might be higher, that was not disclosed.

Ah, for some reason I read it the other way around. I'm somewhat disappointed, even if a little bit.

New condition: "Cell Phone Elbow", damages nerves.

guys, I totally have this. I don't get it from talking on my cell, but I totally get it when I clock too many hours on an MMO/on my computer in general, or play my DS too long.

Wow. I don't know if I'm happy to hear that or not. I've had that before one time, a (previously) unexplainable tingling in my bottom 2 fingers of one arm that lasted for like 18hrs. I didn't know what was going on, and thought one of my nerves died or something, but it was over after a night's sleep.

Now that I read that, I might be because I had my arm bent when I was sleeping. After all, I did sleep on my propped up arm for a few hours at that lecture .

If was just confusing because the numbness didn't go away quickly like it usually does.
