Don't pay him any mind, he'd rather everyone driving a nice car in a bad neighborhood get raped with a police baton. Just as a precaution.

I hope my generation dies out before all our rights are taken.

Nice cars in poor neighborhoods and poor cars in nice neighborhoods will get pulled over for sure when I'm in my police cruiser. Nothing like a nice "howdy do" to discourage people from whatever illegal/immoral business they have planned on the other side of the tracks. People may complain about it and get all politically correct about it, but profiling works.

I hope this world hasn't fallen into complete anarchy until my generation has past.

For God will not permit that we shall know what is to come... those who by some sorcery or by some dream might come to pierce the veil that lies so darkly over all that is before them may serve by just that vision to cause that God should wrench the world from its heading and set it upon another course altogether and then where stands the sorcerer? Where the dreamer and his dream?

It has advantages and disadvantages, and its hard to agree with the fact that using heuristics is a natural and often useful tool for humans. That being said, is it worth it to the harassed to have a measure of safety in exchange for a wrong accusation? Case in point: Last week, A restaurant owner in my neighborhood (who is from India) called in a robbery to the police. When the police arrived, they arrested him! And they detained him until he could pay bail. I have also been stopped twice and asked for I.D. while walking home from work ( I live and work in this same neighborhood).

I know that sometimes, people that look like him or me commit crimes, but then again, a lot of different types of people do bad things, and honestly both of those cases seem like incompetence on the police's part. Maybe our police should be better selected or something, because random profiling seems a lot like rolling the dice.

Well you are in Korea and those people are nuts so what do you expect?

Just kidding, I know you're probably talking about your old neighborhood in Chicago. I corrected your statement to say "hard to disagree with heuristics as a natural and useful tool for humans," as I imagine that's what you meant to say.

Profiling is like any sort of discrimination: sometimes you're right and sometimes you're wrong. Look at it like you're at the grocery store buying fruit. You make your selection based on the color of the fruit, the texture, firmness, and other traits. Sometimes you select the ripest most delicious fruit, other times the insides are rotted and flavorless. Can't win 'em all, but you have to make a selection or buy them all.

From tomshardware.com, one of my favorite news spots. Snoop Dogg does voice over for Tom Tom GPS.

Pretty good idea IMO. I don't have a gps so, it wouldn't effect me.

Holy shit, that's insane. Video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EE5UQ0IXVVU

I'm intensely interested to find out what could specifically cause something like that.

    Edit: Well there's one thing:

I go along with questioning the probability of a failed missile making a perfect spiral like that. it just seems too perfectly aligned.

I bet the spiral was made by a high-power projector, not a missile.

Man arrested behind the leak of Xmen Origins : Wolverine.

I'd think it could be embarrassing to be referred to in court as aki skillygilly.

if you ever wondered how US government works

House Passes Bills on Last Day of Sessions

the difference in coverage stuff like this gets is also startling. the liberal media is touting it as "well, Obama has only had 11 months to get stuff done, and the House needed to pass these bills before the end of the year", while on the other side you see the focus on all the hidden spending, the riders tacked on to the bills.

It's pretty awful, I think, because it's not like anyone could actually vote against these bills to the extent that they wouldn't pass. The fact that they couldn't get budgets done earlier makes it seem, to me, that they were looking for something like this all along, so that they could reward all their lobbyists and special interests while telling the people "I HAD to pass this bill, otherwise the whole country would be fucked".

Humans are different from animals. We must die for a reason. Now is the time for us to regulate ourselves and reclaim our dignity. The one who holds endless potential and displays his strength and kindness to the world. Only mankind has God, a power that allows us to go above and beyond what we are now, a God that we call "possibility".

I heard from my weapon-maniac friend that some missile make the spirals like that to slow down because they can't maneuver well with that speed. Also this Russian missile utilizes random trajectory to avoid the anti air fire.

You know the important distinction between Batman and me? Batman is fictional. In real life, there isn't always an alternative.
