Your metabolism is fast because you're young, and you probably don't get such a large percentage of your caloric intake from sugar and fat. You're also not considering that drinking one of these would be adding to what you would have already eaten that day. I eat roughly 4,000 calories a day, and I exercise regularly. Drinking one of those things in one sitting would mean adding 50% more to my daily intake. These aren't good calories either.
You might as well drink a gallon of fat before bed.

It actually happens a lot, but the bigger aircraft aren't really bothered by it cause of the crazy huge turbines, plus they can still fly even if one of the engine fails. But yeah if a bird gets stuck in one of those smaller engines, the engine is toast.
That's why big airports sound a small alarm to get rid of birds if there are any in the area.
Kind of sad but I read in that book "The World Without Us" that human structures like towers and buildings are killing off song birds in increasing millions. I guess we can add airplanes to the list of man-made things birds die from crashing into.

I found this article to be interesting, mainly because it highlights the wasteful trashings of something valuable to others. Take a look at it.

That shows just how stringent our laws have become in order to rule out just that one-in-one-thousand individual who would exploit it. My neighbour and I had a discussion about this yesterday. In Australia here, childcare people aren't allowed to "touch" the children unless it was absolutely unavoidable. While we see how this is necessary, think about trying to help kids apply sunscreen? Or when they want a cuddle, and you have to push them away.
She worked at a police/state-run childcare before, and she told of how there was one man that all the children loved - he was great with them, and never did anything to hurt them. He loved them just as they loved him. He got fired because of one parent's complaint though. Apparently, while he was catching a girl from a trampoline, he "held her too long".
I wasn't there, and this account could well be biased, but there it is anyway.
She's actually a qualified psychologist, and she thought that this sort of upbringing really severs the bonds that children form with people as they grow. She hypothesised that it's this lack of emotional bonding and upbringing that has lead to increased instances violation between people (assault, theft, rape etc).
She says when you don't feel and empathise with others, it's a lot easier to make the decision to hurt them, and I see truth in what she says.
My mother said similar things - school these days don't effectively teach behaviour anymore. Teaching knowledge without teaching how to use it, as she puts it.
