Naruto Shippuuden Episode 6-7

I don't want to sound girly or anything, but who thinks the Temari/Shikamaru coupling is really cute?

Personally I think they're the only couple in Naruto who has any chance of a relationship developing.

I mean, yeah, we could get an "Epilogue" episode at the end of the series in which Naruto is married to Hinata or Sakura or some bullshit, but Temari/Shikamaru is the relationship which has seen the most development. I like it.

I'm also surprised that Gaara was taken down so easily. I thought they made it a point early in the series that since the Sand Village was small and lacking in military numbers/supplies, they put all their attention into producing above average ninja like Gaara. However, this episode was filled with gawking, useless sand shinobi, who couldn't do much more than fire arrows at Deidara. I get that he was high up, and probably hard to reach, but come on...

yeah...you'd think there'd be a second ninja capable of actually reaching deidara.

Although if I recall, the manga made more sense for this, because I don't think any sort of military force had time to assemble to be able to interfere with the fight like they did in the anime. One thing's for sure, Kankuro and Baki weren't actually inside the village during all this. They were just arriving from a mission.

That makes more sense, cos I was watching and thinking, what the hell is wrong with you all? How could they just stand around helpless (that is, since they were all there and witnessing the fight) and do nothing but make running commentary on the fight like a sports announcer.
With the SunaGakure being a shinobi village there should at least exist some fairly competent shinobi (even if they aren't as strong as the other villages) who could do some jutsu to aid Gaara in his fight. I mean come on Baki and Kankuro just by themselves could have offered some more help other than ordering a hail of arrows (eventually with exploding scrolls). I am sure that baki is quite strong even though we have never seen him fight. And after all that waiting for the defensive preparations to be ready, all they had ready was a bunch of catapults?!? Lame!!
I mean come-on, the whole time he was moving the sand shield from over the village they coulda done something seeing that he was hurt. And even when he was falling they couldnt even move to try to help. How useless could they be, even after Gaara had sufficiently weakened Deidara.
Ok enough ranting about the uselessness of the sand shinobi from me. But I guess it had to be that way in order to advance the storyline and make it more interesting.
