It was a little boring because it felt like nothing happend. Gaara got defeated, Naruto eats ramen and gets used to his former life again. But all seems moving so slow to me. This is ok - better than any of the filler eps.
It's weird that Deidara doesn't mind losing some of his limbs during a fight, though. You'd think he'd soon run out of blood not out of his super-arty-clay.

Don't know if Deidra really is that much above Gaare. Deidara's plan was good no doubt but also very risky since he used up all of his clay. Gaara on the other hand had to protect the whole village from Deidara's bomb with lifting near infinite tons of sand and forming a shield with it. That drained a good many of chakra I'd say leaving him unable to fight with full force.
