I liked Karin's character. She doesn't seem like a comedy-relief character to me, most like someone with two personalities.
Hmmm... I was expecting Suigetsu to kill the prisioners... not let them go to spread the word that Oro is dead.
I think it adds a bit more interest to suigetsu's character. He kinda acts like a punk, but at the same time, he doesn't seem all that bad of a guy. He doesn't like thinking of himself as a subordinate, yet he tries to spread the good word about sasuke.
Perhaps all 3 of Sasuke's sidekicks have split personalities.

I like Suigetsu. Karin, not so much, but she's still one of the coolest girls to have appeared.... *sigh* females have it rough in manga.
Thing is, why does every single female finds Sasuke irresistible? YES, we know he's supposed to be handsome. YES, we know he's supposed to be dead sexy. WE KNOW, so why can't there be one girl who doesn't find him attractive?
And Hinata doesn't count!
Other than that, Juugo looks interesting, to say the least. I'm looking forward for the next chapters...
Also, interesting how Suigetsu ordered the prisioners to spread the word that "a man wh will attain peace has appeared"... well, that's my translation, dunno what the scanlation said. But at any rate, it makes me wonder what Sasuke's real motives are... I mean, "peace"? That's not very Sasuke-like.But if he plans not only to kill Itachi, but perhaps to destroy the Akatsuki, then the world will be at peace, no doubt.
I noticed Saigetsu's arm when reading. It seems he has the ability to dramatically increase his muscle mass. It's too early to tell if it's a large drain on him or if he can do it rather easily at will.
Remembering Suigetsu emerged from water...I don't find surprising he can alter his body mass.
I forgot to add in my last post that while indeed it surprised me that Suigetsu allowed the prisioners to go, I didn't find it bad. In fact I liked it.
the last 2 chapters are Kishimoto's take/satire on adolescent development and pschology. Before the time jump, the girls were taller and boycrazy. The guys didnt get it. After the time jump, the boys had growth spurts. The girls are just starting to learn how to wield their assets to influence the boys. Unfortunately (or fortunately for Sasuke), the boys still dont get it.
And then there's the confused, repressed, one who doesnt know if he's gay, straight, or bi.
Puberty is a special time in a person's life.
Not much to say about this chapter, but I do wonder what Karin does that makes her so unique.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was, after observing the last few chapters. Team Sasuke looks well built; now onto the fight with Team Kakashi.
Not only spread the word that Oro is dead... but that Sasuke is out to bring peace and justice to the world? I'm wondering what motives Suigetsu has... he said something like ''still acting like you're in charge'' how can he challenge sasuke? It's cool to have such a good chapter even when there was no action... plot is a mazing.
I don't think we should blindly get on the gay/straight bipolar track with this new guy. It's totally plausible that he eats people and he's not sure which gender tastes better to him. Not that it'd be terrible if it turned out he was bi...like all the other people in this group probably are, but I would be happier if it was something else.
On Second Thought, Juugo being bi makes him most likely to be fighting against Sai.
I forsee the Team Kakashi vs Team Kakashi break down looking like this.
Naruto vs Sasuke: Obvious
I can think of noting in Naruto's current aresenal that can beat the Sharingan so he'll either learn something on the way or just have to Shounen Heart it.
Suigetsu vs Kakashi: You killed my master!
Mangekyou?!
Karin vs Sakura: I love Saskue the most!
I forsee Karin's special ability being genjutsu related, thus dredging up the long lost comment about Sakura being natural genjutsu user.
and finally Sai vs Juugo: I'm the gayest...no I'm the gayest!
These fights will all probably be fun, though predictable.
Nothing can beat Sai's exposed midrift! Nothing! Not even a guy who isn't sure about his sexuality!
And my money is on Naruto Shounen Heart-ing all the way long. That's what he does best. And he has yet to learn to throw the Shuriken Rasengan, not to mention that its use was prohibited by Tsunade...
On Suigetsu, he's probably not really altering his body mass but filling it with water or something. But I do hope he uses water jutsu.... it's been a while since we got a good ol' elemetal fight. Suiton, Raiton, Doton, etc....
I hope it doesnt become a obvious Kakashi team versus team Sasuke type of duel.
I would actually like to see Kakashi get killed by Sasuke (dramatically sad moment) and then Naruto coming to avenge Kakashi. Then as Naruto releases all his power, he still chooses not to kill Sasuke.
I have high hopes for Suigetsu, I like water elemental users (interesting) and his ability to buff his muscle with a giant sword is an awesome role. Maybe he is one of the seven swordsman? Anyway because the shark guy is always around Itachi, I would expect him to fight with Suigetsu if Sasuke ever finds Itachi again. (since they are both giant sword users and water users)
That would be an interesting battle, yes. It could be like a love triangle; both Sai and Sakura wanting to perve on Naruto in the spa and start trading blows. Then Kakashi gets all jealous and joins the fray.

Honestly, I think orochimaru’s ending was kind of abrupt which leads me to believe he is probably lurking somewhere in Sasuke’s conscience suppressed (Not gone for good yet). But the good thing is, now that word is going to be about Orochimaru’s defeat, it will probably be interesting to see how everyone else reacts, especially Jiraiya, Tsunade and Itachi. An Uchiha kid defeating a former sannin on his own is quite a feat (Orochimaru was weak at the time but still).
Personally, I want to see new characters and I like suigetsu too (the old ones are getting boring because they never do anything special, especially Naruto). Not the biggest fan of Sai when he was introduced, so I would like to see someone different for a change. Karin seems ok I guess, but ill reserve my judgement till I see what she can do that makes Sasuke want her in the squad.
After these last couple of chapters, I am really curious to understand just exactly how the Village of Sound functioned apart from being a huge compilation of test subjects. Clearly Karin was ‘watching over’ the prisoners and not one herself and Suigetsu mentioned her being loyal to Orochimaru. Is Karin one of Orochimaru’s experiments, or is she another person like Kabuto who helping was him out? Also, I wonder if there are other such people who tagged alongside Orochimaru of their own free will and were not lab rats.
I think suigetsu said she was experimented on a lot too, so she was probably a "success". And this chapter has only bolstered my "sasuke is gay theory", but i digress. I really want to see her ability, which im guessing will be genjutsu; maybe somethin like ummm...asuma'a woman (kuenrai??)
I wonder why he didn't recruit Kabuto. He's pretty skilled and knowledgable.
Why's everyone thinking of Team Sasuke vs Team Kakashi match ups? Seems pretty obvious he's banding together to go against the Akatsuki. He doesn't have anything against Team Kakashi. Oro was an Akatsuki so Sasuke probably got a lot of info on them from him and Kabuto. I'm guessing he knows what he's up against and he's picking people that will be helpful. Suigetsu is obviously for Itachi's partner. It goes along with him saying he picked him from the first time he went to Oro. I'm wondering why he's making a team of 4 instead of 6. Maybe the boss and his partner don't venture out?
A "platoon" of shinobi had always been 4 people so I am not sure where you got the 6 from.
Damn,, we have to find a theory that explains that girls (korin?) behavior without sexsual intrest in Sasuke.. that's the only way she'll be able to stay cool.
maybe she's trying to make water guy (shugitsu?) jealous? maybe she has a killing kiss ability (takes out both Kakashi and JIraya!), maybe she wants to inflitrate Sasuke's mind and get Orochimaru out?
something? anything? just not another Sasuke fan...
my guess is also that juggo eats people and still can't decide wheather he prefers the rough guy meat or the tender female meat... maybe he'll match up against Chouji ("I won't let you hurt my best friend!", "I'm about to eat your best friend!") and go BBQ on chouji's bones...
the water dude mega arm implant gave me strong feelings of Claymore... but i wonder how well could he fight if he needed to use both ninjutsu and his sword, it seems like a multitasking problem which could get him killed, espically against someone from the opposing elemnt class...
I thought a platoon was 3 men teams, like in the beginning, and that the 4th person was only a teacher/responsible adult, but also team chiyo was made of 4 people...
well, at least team Sasuke seems cool. maybe they'll dump Sasuke and get a spin off.
