@kraco - I really like that explanation about a youki armor. Thats a good way to explain the weird clanking sound when they slash the ABs.
Peace.
Actually that's probably not it. Duff had really tough armor and in the fight, Clare, Galatea and Jean all aimed for his "softer" spots because they couldn't penetrate (naughty).
Maybe Duff was the exception? His armor is special, even for ABs. Riful did say that only Duff can handle her (and her blades).
Peace.
What blades are you talking about? She seemed to be made entirely of membranous ribbons.
They can apparently be sharpened instantly. That's how she blew away the mountain in an instant when she went into her true form.
They are nebulous ribbons, but they can also be razor sharp 'blades.'
Clare is now Horse girl... or maybe an antelope. She has those cute lil' hooves. I wonder if she chews her cud. Anyway, cool episode. I was really sorry to see Rigardo go ;( (( and then to see two pages of Z'OMG SHE IS TOO fast). I like to take this at face value. She has the head of a #1 claymore inside her is it that inconceivable that in her partially awakened state, she could Be strong?... But go on... please continue ^^. It is fun to see what everyone can come up with physics and science and whatnot.
I see one clear point for Clare's strength with awakening. The power/youma in Clare is the same as Teresa's, so she has the potential of Teresa or atleast a part of this and Teresa awakening would have led to an AB, that is a sure thing. So Clares awakend form should not be so far off from Teresas awakend form and that is enough for me to explain it.
yea... since ABs, as far as we know are STRONGER than yomas (even though they are only half-yoma) its quite possible that could put claire in an even better spot if she completely awakened. on the other hand, i'm not sure if its been stated that Claymores with strong yoki have stronger or weaker yoki than Yomas (its different though)
I don't think AB's are half human half Yoma anymore. I believe that they become fully Yoma at that time but since they were once part human they are still called Awakened Beings as in the Yoma inside of them as fully awakened.
So Clare's yoki is of the same quality as Teresa's because she's got Teresa as her yoma part.....Just think of what could happen if someone killed Easley and used his parts for the next generation Claymores.......
I'm just a bit unsure as to why Pricilla kinda freaked out after Clare went beserk.(well, more beserk, she was going crazy this whole episode). An AB of her rank should be able to feel and identify yoki from her distance, she's riding just outside Pieta. Irene even felt Clare's yoki when she passed by, and new it was a "nostalgic presence". But hey, maybe a blast of it made Pricilla think someone came back to haunt her. . Which really, is sort of the case, the revenge and all.
Galetea's showing up next EP Wonder if that means the organisation's finally got a plan or are sending reinforcements, or if she suddenly felt "Clare's in trouble" and fled.I do't think even she could have manipulated Rigardo's massive yoki though.
^
Heh this made me go lol
OMG, that is the very definition of Moe. Moe in claymore, I never would have imagined it.
Peace.
So i stumbled upon this thread while looking for some new anime to watch this week. Watched all the episodes released so far and i gotta say i really like the series. Reading through the pages of this thread i see you guys have talked most of the stuff in the current episode to death so i'll keep it short.
In regards to her "power up" in the fight with Rigardo, she became a Claymore by taking the flesh and blood of what is was, as far as we know, the strongest of their kind. So i thinks it's possible that by "awakening" it allows Clair to tap into that potential that she should/could possibly have given the origins of her power. The organization said they made her with Teresa's flesh and blood in order to try to preserve her great power, it's not beyond the realm of possibility that they succeeded in a way.
The biggest question bugging me about the current fight though is, why are they even there? Galatea reported back to the Organization, so they should know that Easley is building up his forces to go to war with Rifel. Wouldn't it be a good thing for them to just let these two duke it out and come in later to clean up whatever is left? It seems a little odd to me that they are getting in the way of two "Dweller of the Deep" trying to kill each other. What exactly is the motive/benefit?
Easley isn't just having a war with Riful. He's storming the entire place, everything south of his own territory, including where the Organisation has it's hold. In the case where Riful only cares to defend her own turf, then Easley may take a detour through the Organisation's, down south to the Thrid Abyssal One, and surround Riful if he wants. But in all cases, (others being Riful loses), he'll stomp out everything along the way, like what he did to Pieta. No humans and towns means no money for the old men.Originally Posted by Crash
What we know for sure:
1)Clare has incredible strong will
2)She has got Teresa flesh and blood
3)She has got Irena's arm and quicksword technique.
4) She's the only known Claymore that choosed to be
5) She's an offensive type
1,2 and 4 were discovered in the Teresa Arc.
Clare has been following Teresa for days without much eating and drinking. She even
jumped off a steep cliff without much hesitation.
1,4 and 5 are pretty much linked.
2 is important, because should Teresa have awakened, she would have been an Abyssal One... and not a mere Awakened Being. This is I think very important. She would have been of the caliber of Easley or Riful, far more stronger than Rigardo or Duff.
1 and 4 may explain why she is so good at adapting and quick learning/progressing.
5 is very strong in her due to 1. She fights recklessy, never abandons, and keeps fighting even when she's thought to be too weak and it should be over.
So when she partially awakens, all of her quality enable her to somewhat control a strenght that is near the level of an Abyssal One or Dweller of the Deep (or at minimum, the premisces of such power, as she just began touching it).
Maybe that"s what Priscilla felt, or at least she felt Teresa in Clare...
All the things I really like to do are either illegal, immoral, or fattening. And then: Golf.
Were Easley and Riful Abyssal Ones right from the start? Or were they just powerful ABs, full of potential, and later developed to be the most powerful ones of all ABs? This would be a distinction because not all ABs live long enough to reach their maximum, and you can't say the immature ones would yet be equal to Abyssal Ones in practice.Originally Posted by David75
To me, around the time Riful was presented, they said what a Dweller of the Deep or Abyssal one is: They all are #1 claymores that awakened.Originally Posted by Kraco
However, it"s true they didn't specify anything else, so we don't know if they develop their full potential quickly or not... And we've not witnessed such an awakening, the closest one would be Priscilla, but she was "only" #2... or should we consider she was #1 right when she killed Teresa?
Now we need to try to "understand" why Clare outclasses Rigardo so quickly.
The Abyssal One "shortcut" seems to be the easiest way. By being ablo to use even
a very small amount of power from an Abyssal one into her legs, she gets the advantage in speed, and with her always improving Quicksword she defeats Rigardo. It's only possible if the power from an Abyssal One is available quickly after the first awakening (even partial one) in my set of hypothesis. Thanks for this question.

Im sure that Teresa would have been an Abyssal One had she awakened. The only thing left for your hypothesis is whether what is inside Clare is indeed something that powerful.
If we think in terms that the addition of Youma into the girls is not a simple combination but a mutation (this makes sense, since these half-youmas are actually much stronger than full youmas), Clare may have mutated into something completely different, and the reason why she still seems so weak is because this mutation is not completed, or has not revealed its full effects yet. If we think strictly in terms of power, a claymore is stronger than a youma, so if the mutation grows exponentially based on such power (this can even be youki), Clare may be the most powerful being in the show.
The Claymore creation process cant be as simple as 1+1=2, since weve seen claymores that are abnormally strong, strength which cannot be explained by merely saying human power + youma power = combination of both. This mutation process then, will provide a good excuse as to why Clare has become so powerful so unexpectedly (since it completely disregards the fact that only half youma is in her), and it helps that a former number 1 is her catalyst, or maybe mutation trigger. Still, even if this makes absolute sense, it is worth crap since it isnt based on anything concrete from the show.
Peace.
Exact. Only little mistake is a quarter yoma in ClareOriginally Posted by shinta|hikari
We'll see if they ever come up with something... Maybe they will let this aside and only focus on main plot...
