Umm...if people were dead in the anime but not the manga and they're important in the later manga story you'd have a bit of a problem. But in this case you're probably right, they could pull it together and get back on the manga plot even with where they left it, but it would take a few fairly large leaps.

I guess they could transform the part of the anime from the near end of Rigardo fight to the end of this season as a side story.
If they cut here, there's maybe only one Drawing or two that doesn't fit. Particularly the one where Rigardo tells "Superb" shown before in the thread.

I just finished this and I agree with most people here that the ending was poor. There was so much potential here for this show to be awesome and at the end I'm left feeling 'meh'. The interesting parts of the story, i.e. the mystery of the organization, and working within the big picture, are completely left out and it becomes a disjointed battle of powerups and who hates who the most. Blah. This anime tried to bite off more than it could chew, trying to include too much, and lost its focus.

True. Sometimes I really dont get how the makers of animes can screw up so bad. Dont they have people that will criticize something before they actually do it?

That's what im saying! Like how the hell do you get away with releasing garbage (talking in general). Unless the judges or whatever must have bad taste as well.

We know animes work with extremely tight budgets (like that one article about seiyuu not being stars demonstrated), and generally speaking extremely tight budget and talented people don't fit well together. Maybe the directors don't feel like investing money in people whose only job would be to criticize their job...

A fatal flaw, no doubt, as any decent Hollywood director could tell, but one that might be easily overlooked until external criticism starts to flow in once the show has been released.

I don't think the anime was trying to include too much and lost focus, because it was following the manga very faithfully, till the last few episodes where the anime tries to twist and give a "suitable and believable" conclusion to the series.

Again, because the anime is based on an ongoing manga, there was no contract or agreement for anything beyond 26 episodes. At such, there really wasn't much choice for the anime to continue. Fillers wouldn't make sense, and the only other way was for the anime to hold until the manga completes, which might take years.

For those who crave for more Claymore and isn't satisfield by how Pricilla got defeated, go check out the manga, which is awesome by the way.

not really... you simply bring a new character to replace them. one that's just like them except with a different name...

Then it wouldn't be the original plot, it'd be some made up plot made to look like the original. Besides being terrible storytelling that would just be weird in general.

I intend to carry on reading the manga as I did when I was craving for some more Berserk. I'm just gonna hold out till more volumes are released.

Power without perception is virtually useless!

sorry for bringing up an old thread but i finished watching it and i was heavily dissatisfied. so my question is, where in manga should i start reading to pick up from the original* storyline and where can i get these claymore manga downloads? anyone know of a site?

  12. #1092
I think I've mentioned this before but whatever...

Start at volume 10. The anime started changing things here but you'll see a lot of stuff that was similar.

You can get everything from www.mangatraders.com or if you're irc savvy #lurk on irc.irchighway.net

For those considering archiving this series, Mahou are slowly releasing their versions of Claymore at 1024x576. Probably as close to HD as we'll get. Might try a few to see what they're like.

Yeah, I was reading the earlier posts in this forum and I was thinking it would be exactly like Berserk. They are basically the same: good plot line and such, except you can't cover such a good story in 26 episodes. I do hope they can shoot this and berserk into anime again.
