You know, after reading the chapter, I just couldn't help but think that orochimaru is just a misunderstood kid that grew up doing what hes been doing just so he can one day see his mommy and daddy again haha.

ZOMG that's the reason he wants to live forever, he's waiting for the return of his parents!!1!1
I think I know precisely what I mean

That some weird dream/goal to reach. Sasuke's dialoge hit it right in the spot.

this chapter was sweet
Sasuke's dialoge was indeed very cool, i' am going to quote that shit hehe
i almost had pity with oro though didn't think he was a momma and daddy's boy
but i really hope oro will kick sasuke ass and take over his body that would be a really nice plot twist
YEAH! KILL SASUKE!
Whoa. I actually thought those last scenes with Orochimaru and the Third were pretty moving. It's sadly ironic that he's turned himself into the memory of that snake skin, which was supposed to be a good luck symbol. Unfortunately, now I just wanna know MORE about his parents and his background. I guess that's what happens when you come across a character you find interesting. I'm not really convinced that the white snake is a good luck symbol. The Third could have simply told Oro that to try and help him cope with his loss. The REAL meaning could have been "A scourge, a blight, symbol of the betrayer, etc." Like when he was describing that rainbow pattern to Konohamaru. And he simply didn't want to believe Oro could grow up to become that. Yeah, it doesn't sit right with me anymore simply writing Orochimaru off as one of the villains. So he's human after all.
Doesn't this bring up a ton of questions for anyone else? Like, "Who did Orochimaru take after, his mom or dad, or both? How exactly did they die? Did they pass bloodline limits to him(which we may have already seen in action and didn't realize it)? I ask about that one because we already have 2 clans that pass down certain eye characteristics, and Orochimaru's are very distinct. Wouldn't it be strange if a whole clan like him existed and this was left out of the story thus far? And how did it come to be that The Third specifically was his instructor? No wonder The Third was reluctant to kill him, there are enough time gaps here that he could have been an Iruka-like figure to Orochimaru. I don't really want him to die yet, not like this. If anything, I'd like to see Orochimaru do some major kind of damage to Akatsuki, purposefully or by mistake, and dying in the process. At least that way, he could die by doing something redeeming. It seems like such a waste to kill him here at this point.

wow... you are really looking too deep into this.
in any case, i have a feeling that we are gonna get one of kishis classic 2 month flashbacks

The flashbacks could also mean the end of oro afterall....
10/4/04 - 8/20/07
Oh well guess he's gonna die, guess we'll just have to find a new cooler villian to introduce after one was already established for over 300 ch....
R.I.P Captain America.
Couldn't the new villain be Sasuke? He's already a lot more cooler than Oro ever could be. Not to mention, he's been established for over 300 chapters as well ^^Originally Posted by Knives122
And I hope you guys are right about the flashbacks heralding the death of Oro Time to move on!
I don't think Sasuke could be the main villian. I mean, he could've killed a lot of people (think a few chapters back, when all he did was injure and knock out the hundreds of enemies he was up against), but as of yet he hasn't really killed anyone. All he wants is to eliminate his brother.
As for Orochimaru, I don't really want him to die. I hope he somehow has a desire for redemption and ends up helping Sasuke kill his brother by lending him his power somehow. Sort of corny... but I guess I'll be almost as satisfied if Sasuke kills him within the next few chapters.
I really liked this chapter, anyway. The dialogue by Sasuke was cool, as everyone already mentioned.
I thought it was somewhat funny how Sasuke was talking all this smack about how as an Uchiha he was so much better and more capable than Orochimaru, while he was repeatedly using the power of the cursed seal that Oro had given him, it just seemed ironic, but the stuff about Oro not knowing what the hexk he's doing rung true and made me wonder what will happen to Orochimaru after this little tussle.
give me a break... Sasuke's illness has increased yet again, he seemed to be even more uchiha obsessed than before, his non-sharinganad parents (were both of his parents Uchihas anyway?) should have spanked him harder when he was a child, maybe even with a bastard sword.
also, the thing in page 14 isn't a hawk, it's a duck at best, and a really ugly one to top it all.
Sadly, Sasuke can't die yet so it's a bit anti-climactic. I sincerely hope Orochimaru kicks his butt and says something along the lines of "You got PWNED brat!" at least. Then obviously someone would step in and save his annoying butt. Orochimaru better not die yet. ESPECIALLY at the hands of Sasuke.
If I were Kishimoto I would leave the fight in a cliffhanger and not touch it again for some time. Then we see Sasuke volumes later without us knowing if he's really Sasuke or Orochimaru with his body.
Sasuke talks alot about the Uchicha...I mean I didnt think that he was so prideful about his clan, more about his parents and killing his brother...but it looks like he is imbracing all of it I guess. WAY TO BE SASUKE! -dg-
assertnfailure (7:40:03 PM): dude....your posts are a bunch of nonsense
with the flashback of oro im more convinced that he is going to die, just because the bad guy flashbacks are usually a precursor to their death, as in kimimaro. it seems like a mechanic for us to try to understand him one last time before he dies. I mean if he wins we get to see him what running around looking for his mom and dad? pretty lame if thats the case.
Also the snake body makes sense as a medium for possession, as the last thing you saw of the previous host after that throw down free for all was a big flash of the form he is in now.

Snakes symblize rebirth so i don't think Oro will go anywhere anytime soon.

I really liked this chapter for a few reasons...
One being that Sasuke has deliberated opinions on issues other than his quest for vengeance and re-establishing the Uchiha clan. Orochimaru was speechless throughout Sasuke's entire dialogue meaning there's possibly alot of truth in what Sasuke said
...except for the "Do you even have a goal anymore?" part. It was a nice twist we were led to believe Oro's only goal was to bring down Konoha because the 3rd did not make him Hokage. Seems like that was more of a macho coverup for his real goal of reuniting with is parents.
Also another interesting thing I get from this...the 3rd is responsible for Orochimaru creating his immortality jutsu and killing so many people in the process. Sure Orochimaru is twisted enough to go about it the way he did, but the 3rd influenced a child to believe he should stay alive (become immortal) so he could literally get to see his parents again. The 3rd essentially told Oro that he is the white snake who is to be born and reborn. And the doubt the 3rd left in Oro's mind regarding when he'll see his parents again influenced Orochimaru to seek immortality rather than find out in his own life time.
