    Juusoukikou Dancougar Nova

    A new Dancougar series!

Will Dancougar Nova be able to save the Earth? The prelude to this explosive confrontation rings out.

yes, the original Dancougar series was about four mechs that join together to make a bigger, more powerful one. yes, this one has that too. probably won't be the best mecha series of the year, but i'm interested.

edit - an OK first episode. Definitely a "super robot" mecha, so nothing as gritty as Code Geass or serious as Gundam... The characters are pretty interesting, the cop especially. Looks like the emphasis is going to be on the female characters... Animation was nothing to write home about, but still acceptable. You can tell this anime doesn't have a huge budget. I'll be casually sticking with this one.

Humans are different from animals. We must die for a reason. Now is the time for us to regulate ourselves and reclaim our dignity. The one who holds endless potential and displays his strength and kindness to the world. Only mankind has God, a power that allows us to go above and beyond what we are now, a God that we call "possibility".

Ho... Well, that answers one big question I had after watching this yesterday: Why the giant robot has a human face. So, it's based on some old-school robot show. I guess it showed also otherwise. Still, it wasn't as bad as I thought, and like Masa said, the characters were somewhat interesting.

I guess I'll watch at least till the next episode, and then judge if it's worth sticking to.

I like the fact that, in addition to the human face, they also kept the look of Dancouga still having those detailed gratings and rectangular shapes reminiscent of robots from the 80's-90's that make them feel very heavy, sturdy and indestructible.

What'll probably keep me interested is how they use this twist about "helping the weak side in war", and by doing so, creating no winner on any battlefield.
