That was some hot tongue action, too bad the guy wasn't more careful or he could have had some before he died

I only bought the manga volume this was based on a couple of weeks ago. So, the manga still fresh in mind, this somehow seemed even better. Great stuff indeed. It feels like Roberta is a lost cause based on these events. Although after a year of rehab she might get better, who knows. Assuming she survives...

They censored too much of the erotic kiss scene. That should have been shown in full, not just sounds. Roberta was 10x sexier in the manga in that scene.

has Blacklaggon always been *this* bloody? I remember a few scenes especially during the end of the series but a smashed head like this? ewwww.

I enjoyed the series more than these OVA's though.. and I was really dissappointed by the FARC and the way they slaughtered everyone without much resistance.. the US army soldiers were cool though (that door scene, wohooo)

  8. #348
The SOC team really feels american while the FARC just feels sloppy, but I guess they're here just to delay the arrival of one Balalaika and her army.
It is getting Hellsing gore, the series haven't been this bloody, but I can't really dislike it. It goes well with the psycho delusional blood thirsty overtrained Roberta

The next episode that comment should have been saved for (according to Shinta):

    Episode 4 SD | 720p | 1080p - TastyMelon

Apparently not, since this one was pretty stretched. Either that, or reading through their long dialogues is just that much faster than listening to it. We didn't get to the good part.

This one was far more enjoying to watch than the first 3 OVAs
and the action-scenes (the little there were) were even better than in the actual series.. no cannonfodder this time.

one of the few times were the watcher is actually able to believe that these soldiers are capable to fend off all these superhuman-hitmen in that town

Rock is developing in interesting ways. I think that was one of the most important things about this episode - and this whole arc, obviously, but it became far more clear in this episode. You could say tables are turning funnily when Dutch is giving up in front of Rock's machiavellian plans...

I'm actually surprised that Revy is actually looking for a sanctuary in Rock. She wasn't able to deny the accusation, so at least to a certain extent it must be true. What would happen if her sanctuary turned into a wasteland like their town? Will she lose interest in him? Or is the bullet already loaded into the gun?

It would be infinitely unfair to expect Rock to remain all clean and innocent while living in such a city for an extended period of time. However, maybe Rock's general goodwill be sufficient for Revy, even if his methods may be getting darker. At least I think Rock is still seeking outcomes that "will make the world a better place". In fact I think it should be sufficient. People like Revy hardly consider even brutal methods out of the ordinary, but using them not to make money or seek power but to save someone "irrelevant" or make the city safer should be an ample distinction.

I was surprised Revy let herself get disabled by basically a faceless henchman. I know those guys are supposed to be elite troops and all, but still, Revy is one of the resident crazykillgods.

It makes perfect sense since it was a sniper. An elite sniper with superior positioning that can be detected easily is more surprising.

Yeah...I kind of stopped thinking in those terms when they had a guy cutting bullets in half in mid air.

You just have to think about it in relative terms. Maybe that sniper can shoot flies from 1 kilometer away. He is elite after all. :P
