The August issue of Shogakukan's Monthly Sunday GX magazine will confirm on Saturday that the third Black Lagoon anime project will be an original video anime (OVA) project in 2010. Director Sunao Katabuchi will return from the first two Black Lagoon anime projects, along with character designer Masanori Shino and the Madhouse anime studio. Megumi Toyoguchi will reprise her role as the female pirate Revy. The story revolves around a typical Japanese businessman who gets caught up in the escapades of modern-day pirate mercenaries off the Asian shores.
Viz Media will publish the seventh volume of Rei Hiroe's original adventure manga next month. Geneon Entertainment released part of the Black Lagoon anime in North America, but Funimation has since agreed to take over distribution of the anime. Funimation reissued the first anime series and started the DVD release of the Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage series last August.
I find this a little strange, as the Dance of Death arc in the manga (which isn't even over to my knowledge) could fill 12 episodes with what they've released so far. Maybe we will be lucky and they will be uncensored 40 minute OVAs like Mnemosyne.
So, i have not yet seen this anime, but i plan to sometime in future, so i'm just wondering.. is there any sub-group that is releasing or has released this in 720p versions?
If not, whats the best quality available? (or perhaps someone has an ETA on any eventual HD releases? :P)

There are supposed to be Blu-ray versions of seasons 1 and 2 coming out, but they first set doesn't come out until late December.
There might be some mediocre upscales around, but DVD is the best source currently.
It's kind of a gray area since you're specifically asking about quality, but doesn't this kind of request belong in the Downloads section?
So i'm downloading season 1&2 1080p by "OZC Anime" at the moment, and i just thought i'd ask if anyone here has had any experience with that sub-group, are they good/bad?
1080p video quality is going to be awesome though

The Finnish releases of the manga aren't this far yet but it would need to be a grand arc indeed if five episodes weren't enough.
Too bad about ANBU dropping this. I hope something decent appears to take their place.

A highly Rock centered episode. I might have wondered if that's a good idea in light of the past seasons but certainly the dude surprised me positively. No matter how gloomy he was throughout the episode. Serious brainwork in Black Lagoon is not entirely novel but it's a bit different, especially underlined so thickly that there wasn't a single bullet shot in a whole fricking ep of Black Lagoon! All in all, this episode did as much to explain the situation in the city and world as half a season before.
I also liked the scene between Rock and Revy in Revy's apartment. While Revy wasn't drawn in an overly cute manner in the scene, it was still nice fanservice, har har. Apparently Revy also loves that manner of talk from men. Rock's a smooth talker. Despite his gloomy face.

The 3rd OVA is finally out and subed 720p ... finally some great action in this episode, but now the wait for the new one jsut when things got good
