    Les Miserables - Shoujo Cosette

    Les Miserables: Shoujo Cossette

First episode by a group called Delicious

There isn't yet description for this anime available, so I will quote here a description of the source itself:
"Les Misérables (translated variously from French as The Miserable Ones, The Wretched, The Poor Ones, The Victims) (1862) is a novel by French author Victor Hugo, and among the best-known novels of the 19th century. It follows the lives and interactions of several French characters over a twenty year period in the early 19th century that includes the Napoleonic wars and subsequent decades. Principally focusing on the struggles of the protagonist—ex-convict Jean Valjean—struggling to redeem himself, the novel examines the impact of Valjean's actions as social commentary. It examines the nature of good, evil, and the law, in a sweeping story that expounds upon the history of France, architecture of Paris, politics, moral philosophy, law, justice, religion, and the types and nature of romantic and familial love." -Wikipedia

    Genres: Drama, historical.

    Sites:
    AniDB, ANN, Official.

Well, great many are of course familiar with this title, as the novel indeed is very, very famous, and equally masterful. For me, it was one of the first novels I ever read. And thus this anime caught my attention immediately the first time I saw it mentioned somewhere.

Based on the first episode this looks like a decent creation. The graphics are quite smooth, with a pretty high contrast between the backgrounds that look detailed and artistic and the rather simply drawn characters. But with jolly good 52 episodes, that's understandable. Now, I haven't heard of Delicious before, but they did decent if not necessarily impressive work. Still, I wouldn't mind if they got some competition, but I'm more than happy this series got a subber at all! What comes to the story, it seems pretty fast despite the double episode number, but on the other hand, it was a thick book...

OP and ED very quite nice as well. I'll most certainly keep watching this.

I don't know what you're talking about. Thenardier is one of the greatest classic characters you love to hate, and near the end you can only feel sympathy for Javert. If it makes you feel better, Thenardier probably got his head taken off in the ensuing revolution in 1832.
