Yeah. It's pretty unbelievable. Fillers have been running far longer than I've been registered here at Gotwoot. It's like an end of an era. In a good way.
I actually began to really read these forums around the time the fillers began, I think. The discussion threads back then were far more interesting than the filler episodes. Insults and complaints were so fresh in the beginning.
Does anyone know what the older chara's will look like. I am hoping a noticeable difference in age is shown in the new animations. I feel like right now, their abilities are way beyond their "looks" i.e. a bunch of 12 year olds. The only one I really feel is unaffected by this would probably be Gara -- he owns

i remember seeing on a magna chapter that the official end of fillers is at the 15th....true or not....that i don't know only time will tell....since today is the first of the month that means only 2 weeks remaining

Wow, I've been dead here since Oct, 2005. I stopped watching Naruto when fillers started. Any reason to catch up or should I just pick up where they ended?

Seems like this is a legitimate end date....figures. I waited so damn long without reading the manga...until about 2 weeks ago. Now I'm all caught up and the show's starting back up. I'm not complaining so much as lamenting my impatience for not waiting.
I'm a little scared though as to how long it will take them to catch back up though since I blew through the manga in only a few hours.
You don't have to watch them, but the last arc (eps. 216 - current) is actually pretty good. If you just had to watch something to tide you over until the 15th, that arc is the least annoying of the fillers IMO. Plus the next episode is the series end, so you probably should watch it as a nice lead-in to Naruto:Shippuden.
Since 135 was the last manga-related episode, this means you can skip 85 episodes and not miss anything important. I would still recommend watching the last 5, but it's up to you.
It's been so long since I came here my last login was like over half a year ago on May 26th 2006. It's nice to hear Naruto is starting up again finally though.
I'm glad fillers end this week. But what I don't get is how they're gonna finish it up because the new enemy didn't "die" yet. I'm hoping it'll end in a creative way and not the usual naruto rendan or like a kage bunshin + rasengan combo...
Wow can't believe the fillers are finally ending. I haven't watched Anime in over a year.
