Offical Countdown to the end of fillers!

One thing I don't get is, even though they're only showing "filler episodes", why leave out some main characters from these side stories? It wouldn't be hard to add them and still not conflict with the manga. Like where are Kakashi, Sakura, any of the jounins, Jiraiya, etc? I can understand them not wanting to mess with the Sasuke or Orochimaru characters, but these others would be fair game for developing histories and back stories without straying from the manga.

It also seems the same few genins are being used, like Hinata, Lee, Neji, Kiba, etc. I'd rather see more of Shikamaru, Ino, Shino, etc in longer story arcs. I think Ino will be in episode 192, but it's a one episode arc.

I think they are doing a pretty good job in distributing screentime between side characters. Another factor which probably is important is conflicting schedules, it's probable that they decide who to add based on how the voice actor of the character in question works. Other times they just think some characters fit better than others.

But ask yourself this, do you really WANT to see your favorite characters get butchered regularly?

Well I'm still disputing the butchering aspect of these "filler episodes". I still contend that they help develop side characters that the manga will never bother with. If they were just drawn better and involved in more compelling and better thought-out story arcs, I'd be fine waiting another few months for the manga-based episodes.

Jiraiya did actually show up during one filler episode, which is sort of ridiculous, considering the fact that he's supposed to be gone until the time warp.

As for Shikamaru... he's a chuunin, right, so he's probably out pwning things that these n00bs can't handle. Or... something.

Ino was in the earlier fillers and now, obviously, she's back in the next episode.

well, sasuke, kabuto, and orochimaru don't have to meet up with naruto or anyone else, face to face. they can make a filler episode about them about what happens to them in everyday life? but seriously, who wants that? and who can picture a moment of laughter in the episode?

well, i'm glad some characters aren't used in the fillers, like gaara for example, someone so cool, yet psychotic, can be raped as a character in one line in a filler.

There are some filler arcs I thought were ok, but really I'm more interested in the main story line. I hope they pick it up soon, I'd like to see a bit more development in the main story.

Which was the episode where they said 16 more weeks of fillers? Thats what im gonna go by, only thing that comes close to an answer to when the fillers will end.

No not that one, that was when they first started saying the fillers where gonna end . Then they started saying stuff like " infinite fillers left". I know in one of the last 3 arcs it said 16 weeks left. i would go back and watch the episodes but sadly i deleted after i saw them.

So if it's true that the fillers end in the 16 weeks like they said then then the new episodes would begin september 28th. This sounds good in that most new seasons begin around this time in september, but thats in america not sure how the japanese do things. just gotta hope so .
