i'd imagine the shuriken form was what naruto intended from learning chakra shape manipulation. he's taking advantage of wind chakra's insane piercing ability as asuma showed him. after the blades get through whatever kakuzu uses to block the attack, the wind chakra infused rasengan is free to meet its target.
I think that this new move of his wont work out.
Why? Kazaku still has two hearts left. Lets say that Naruto lands this new skil on him and takes out 1 of Kazaku's hearts. Naruto didnt look like he wasted lots of chakra/tired from making that new move, so he should be able to make another one. If one works to take out one of Kazaku's hearts, another wind rasengan should be used to take out another right? Wrong, Kishi doesnt make his manga material that boring. My prediction is that, Naruto's new move, because it is still imcomplete, will not take out Kazaku's hearts. Naruto and the gang work desperately together to take out 1 of Kazaku's hearts, and for the last heart, Naruto "finalizes" the move in battle and take out the last one, thus having a grand ending and awesome achievement-type-of-feeling that Kishi might write
I expect kakuzu to lose one more heart and then run away...

I don't know, it would sort of have to be like Deidara was with the whole "end of the line kind of thing". So running away when he has two hearts really wouldn't do it for me.
It needs to be one heart left or he dies, plus you can't really run away with all those people there...

I truely doubt that one lol. I seriously doubt any of the akatsuki can beat the konoha kages when they where at thier prime. Only one would be tsunade. She is powerful but mainly a medic ninja, and we haven't seen anythiong really special from her, also jiraya and orochimaru are stronger then her. The first four hokages where said to be the most poweful of thier time so i doubt kakuzu at that time could beat him, not even now. especially if naruto ends up beating him. We all know he isn't at the level of the first 4 hokages.
Also one could assume that the hokages mostly just fought to protect their own people. A loss for the 1st would've meant a loss for konoha itself. I don't think running away wouldve been an option for him.
Now that I think about it.....
It would be interesting to see how Kakuzu reacts to Yamato's fighting style, considering Yamato's the same as the 1st
