What I still don't understand is why Shika did not finisch Hidan completely. He's so smart and yet he let Hidan still be alive. If I would be Shika I would also made his head explode or burn his whole body till ashes. That would be the perfect kill.

Maybe he did! You never know!

And it does have similar attributes to the Destructo Disc but come on now, it is so much more explained and involved then any of the DBZ moves. So all in all I dont mind if the moves look the same as long as they have some sort of smart explanation. Also nice catch on the bandage on Kakashi's hand. -dg-

I wonder if you could still say that once they go Kamehameha all the way...
they'll say when you combine too many opposing chackra types, it starts to become unstable, and if you keep pushing it, it becomes a blast of destructive power...

see, it took me about two mintues to come up with an explannation, so are you willing to see it in the next chapter?

Doesn't really matter if they show stuff from other anime... Come on people y are u even watching anime if you know that all anime are copies of each other... wow this is stupid why argue about some thing that was in dbz or any other show... enjoy it or just stop watching the show...

I'm invoking the 'we at gotwoot' rule from last week thread!

we at gotwoot here, have things we like to do, and things we really like to do.
reading our favorite mangas is the first, bitching about them is the 2nd.
you could give us plot twist one after the other, and we'll still find something to complain about, that's just who we are, and that's exactly what we like to do...

ah. the hell, don't pay much of attention, it's simply that one of the best weeks i've had in the past year is about to end. so I'm crancky.

Exactly, it is kinda hard to come up with new material when there are aso many diffrent anime. Can any of you really come up with something that hasn't been done before? Wind shuriken makes sense to me since wind is good long/mid-range, and it has great cutting power. Also how else did you want him to hold it? What i think is people have to find any excuse to complain sometimes.

Just put it this way, if it would have been a hurricane or tornado some people would have complianed that it wasn't anything special. If it was wind armor some would have said it is to much like sasuke. What naruto has learned hasn't been seen in the show and makes total sense. I like it myself, but i don't know about the rest of you.

I wouldn't complain cept, Krillin and the Destructo Disc are pretty lame through and through.

Rather than viewing Kishimoto as a copy and unoriginal, I rather view this as a homage to his idol.

What I don't really understand is why do you need a rasengan inside a wind shuriken. I mean if it hits it will cut anything (is just a way of speaking, I'm sure that some element or chakra wont be cut). The shuriken should go through and the rasengan wouldn't have anything to impact against, wich is the way it works. Push it against something to blew it away or if it stays just pierce through.

Edit: this hypothesis is based on the rasengan being thrown, I presume that if its called shuriken is for some reason. If the futon rasengan is going to be used the same way of the plain rasengan forget everything I wrote.

The rasengan is the incomplete form of the shuriken rasengan. The point is the have a concentrated ball of whirling chakra, and its this core which allows the large shuriken blades to grow out of.

Think of it this way....most wind-chakra attacks we've seen involved the chakra expanding out of the form of something else...ie. Asuma's knuckle blades and Baki's hand. Here the blades use the rasengan to develop their form.

Sounds possible but wouldnt some shurikens made from the same material of asuma's knuckles serve the same purpose? Maybe is a very rare material but I still fail to see all the trouble of making a rasengan and injecting wind just to make a wind shuriken. I'm just judging from one picture, but the shuriken seems pretty normal, isnt wildly spining or doing anything strange.

Maybe when we see it in action it will make much more sense for me, im just an incredulous person.

I'm curious about one thing here. Is Naruto still using his shadow clones to mold the rasengan or did he do it on his own this time?

Its a little confusing in the pics. I cant tell if the point they show where he is froming the rasengan is Kakashi thinking back or the present battle.

  15. #35
    he used the clones.

as for the new attack, i think he'll use it like a conventional weapon. use it to attack the opponent like asuma used his knuckle blades, and if the opponent tries to counter it, they get hit with a rasengan. so the only option left is to completely dodge it. Im going to assume that the blades serve to keep the enemy from nullyfying it like kakashi did in the flashback.

You either try to parry it and get a hole in your stomach, or you try to cancel it out and have your arm cut off. So all you can really do is run from it.

I think the wind blades are indicative of the Rasengan's new cutting strength. Before it was just a spinning force, so if it hit you it scrambled you up inside via concussion. Now it's probably more like spinning knives so if it hits you not only will you get scrambled from the concussion pushing parts of you out of the way, you'll also get cut everywhere that the force was applied. I think it's just that much more destructive then before, which fits Naruto's style but can still be seen as an improvement.

Just the same, you could say "why not use one of those giant shurikens like Mizuki had in the first episode?" The simplest of attacks is enough to kill an enemy, but if an enemy can cancel it, then you need to try something stronger. Under normal circumstances, water beats fire, yet Kakuzu's wind-fed fire simply overpowered Kakashi's water wall. Sure I can't see why shurikens made of the same material as asuma's blades can't be used to create wind shurikens, but I bet they wouldnt be as strong as a wind shuriken being continuously fed super-concentrated, super-accelerated chakra from something like a rasengan.

...where am I getting all this from anyway? :P

@EpyonNext: It takes 3 to make the wind shuriken rasengan. 2 to make the rasengan and a 3rd to infuse it with wind chakra.

Almost all fuuton jutsu that have been revealed so far are designed to attack from a distance, so you are probably right, but...this is just a theory, maybe this is the power of the completed form of the jutsu. Since it requires multiple kagebunshin just to execute the fuuton rasengan shuriken justu in its present state, it is safe to assume that it also requires a tremendous amount of chakra and concentration, and this is all with the rasengan shuriken still held in the palm of his hand. I think that even more focused chakra would be required to make the jutsu stable enough to hold together after it leaves his hand.

In short: The current jutsu is unstable when compared to the finished product, so Naruto has to remain in contact with it to keep it together, restricting him to swinging it around like a conventional melee weapon...well, as conventional as blades made of chakra and wind get, anyway. Once complete, the jutsu should be stable enough to be thrown.

Disclaimer: This is only a theory and based on absolutely nothing more than a hunch.

Edit: @AssertnFailure - True, I was wrong about the range, but it was an error in terminology. What I meant was that fuuton justu are generally used to attack from some degree of distance rather than in direct hand-to-hand.

    Not true....
Kakashi specifically said wind is a short-medium range jutsu, which further complements Naruto's fighting style.
